Horrible Delivery Service 6/5/2008

The food is excellent but the delivery service is terrible! On my first order the delivery person did not even wait 1 min to be buzzed so I had to run and wave him down. I should have know from that experience that the next experience would be terrible. My second experience the delivery person was extremely rude. Due to these experiences I will never be eating at Jumpin Java Kitchen again. more

Good Food... 5/24/2008

They have a great breakfast burrito but it is a little expensive... Lower the prices and you got a 5 star comment! more

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............ 7/15/2007

This place was recommended to me by 3 of my friends. I live closeby, but only driven by on several occassions. Pros: delicious food! Cons: small place, parking, crowded, no reservations available. more

SIMPLY THE BEST 4/2/2007

I eat there very often and this is my favorite restaurant. The hippest crowd, biggest celebrities, the fresh and delicious food, friendliest service, very european style with an outdoor patio and the most important is the happy atmosphere. You're in the bad mood, stressed, depressed? Go to Java and hang out there and eat, you'll come out of there happy. Huge menu and anything I've tried is great and unique. if it's a breakfast item or lunch. You can taste the freshness of the food and it's ingridience. 100% homecooking. Love it!!! more

Breakfast Rocks!!! 3/5/2007

Love this place. One of the best breakfast places I have found in LA. Can be a bit of a wait on the weekends... but so worth it. My girl and I pretty much stick to two of the same items - Chef's Egg Sandwich with Feta - the potatoes that come with ROCK!.... and a big-O chocolate chip pancake (to die for). Fortunately, they have finally started serving soy milk for coffee a few months back. Service is usually pretty good. Price is very fair. Highly recommend for breakfast in the valley. Pros: excellent breakfast, descent portions, chocolate-chip pancakes are awesome, outdoor seating Cons: small place, there can be a wait on weekends. more

Cinnamon Kiss-french toast 12/13/2006

I went here on a Sunday and although we had to briefly wait for a table it was well worth it. If you like sweets for breakfast, the Cinnamon Kiss-french toast was delicious! It tasted like warm churros toasted to perfection! My friend and I shared this plate along with the vegitarian crepe since the Cinnamon Kiss-french toast can be a bit overwhelming (sugar overload) if you ate the whole thing by youreself. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for something different for brunch. Pros: Large Menu and wide seletion Cons: Small place more

BLUEBERRY AND BANANA PANCAKES 10/4/2006

Best I have ever had! I don`t know what that other girl was talking about but the pancakes are out of this world. The fruit in the pancakes is very visable and plentifull. Most times you do have to wait for a table though I was glad to hear they just opened a huge second restaurent in Encino called Sona`s. I may just start going their to avoid waiting for a table. I hear they serve dinner at that location as well. Can`t wait to check it out. Cheers. Pros: Great food, friendly employees Cons: can`t think of any more

Let's get some Freeench toast! 9/19/2006

Jumpin Java is my favorite place to go for breakfast and lunch. The french toast is out of this world, especially if you get it with sauteed bananas. Also, their chopped chicken salad is the best and most delicious salad I have found in the valley. There's always a wait on saturday and sunday mornings, because it's really small, but the wait staff is really nice. Also deeeelicious: The turkey and brie sandwich, the turkey burger (i dont know HOW they make is so fabulous, but i've dreamt about this burger...) and the garlic chicken a la press sandwich. They claim the french fries are baked, but they taste exactly like McDonalds french fries. Which I love. I love Jumpin Java. Pros: Food, Service, Lives next to a cupcake store Cons: Small, Bad parking more

poor customer service 9/15/2006

My boyfriend and I have been regulars at Jumpin Java for years. We knew this place before it became hip. At least three times a week we would follow our crave for their yummie blueberry and banana pancakes. From one day to the next the owner decided that putting real fruit into the batter would be a waste of expansive ingridients, and not only did he instruct his wait staff to refuse any requests for fruit additions but had the kitchen staff replace the blueberries with some non-descript dried blueberry flavored junk. While they are at it they should change the menu too: Blueberry FLAVORED Pancakes. Mmmh. Can't wait to hear when they switch to tuna flavored sandwiches. more

Just okay. But too long a wait. 8/23/2006

The food is nothing to talk about. After all, it's a breakfast. However, the wait is another story. I cannot believe that my friend made us wait for 45 minutes just to have a regular breakfast. And we ended up dining at the front patio where other people were waiting for the table. It was not a comfortable experience. more

Best pancakes if you've got the time. 7/17/2006

Okay, so here's the deal on this place. The wait is soooo long to get a table. It's always packed. And once you do sit, it takes quite a while to get your food (once, the waitress even forgot to turn in our order and we waited almost an hour). Wait wait wait...but...the breakfast, especially the pancakes (I love the almond oat) are so worth the wait!! I'm not even a pancake person but their pancakes really are delicious! Oh and the omelets, breakfast potatoes, and hot chocolate are all tasty too. I'm pretty sure breakfast is served all day so if you do go later in the day, forget about their lunches and dinners...they are nothing to rave about...and indulge yourself with something off of the breakfast menu. Pros: One of the best breakfasts in town! Cons: Long wait to sit and eat. Below average service. more

GREAT FOOD!!! 7/8/2006

I love this little brunch spot. It is so good, there is always a wait to get a table at least if you go on a Sunday. Sometimes, I would go by myself and just sit at their little 3 person bar and have my food. I always recommend this spot to people and look forward to going. The people there are nice. It's cool to just go and kick back. However, I do wish customers would stop bringing their pets even if you are sitting outside. It still is a restaurant and everyone does not want to be surrounded by other people's dogs. So, I do with the restaurant would make that a policy. Other than that, it's great! Pros: Food, Food and more Food... Cons: The Wait... and the place is a bit small. more

good breakfasts, long wait 11/29/2005

waiting is really the key word here. expect to wait for a table (especially on weekends) and then expect to wait for your food. sometimes it's just too long altogethor and we don't bother, but when the wait for a table isn't too long, it's a cute little cafe to have breakfast at. the best thing here is the baby shrimp crepes with the salsa...absolutely delicious. they recently put in air conditioning, so now summers won't be unbearable hot. cofee here's not bad, too. Pros: good breakfasts Cons: long wait for food, long wait for table more

Best Blueberry Pancakes! 8/6/2005

Jumpin' Java's blueberry pancakes are the best! I get them with whipped cream instead of syrup. The OJ is really good too! To top it off, the staff is very friendly! Pros: blueberry pancakes, staff, price more

Jumpin Java is yummy!!! 4/6/2005

I love the potatoes! The pancakes are fabulous! And they allow my little doggie on the out door seating area Pros: Great food, Carlos is great!, Fabulous desserts Cons: Long wait on weekends more

The worst restaurant experience in years. 3/7/2005

Jumpin Java is in need of some serious revamping of their service staff. The food is okay, but it does not make up for the poor service. We waited 15 minutes to order while the manager called an impromptu staff meeting where he yelled loud enough for all the customers to hear. Finally after we ordered the food took another 35-45 minutes, and in that time our water glasses were not even looked at much less refilled. Finally when we did receive our order, one item was wrong. They took away the plate with a burger, salad, and a side of bacon. Fifteen minutes later when they brought out the corrected burger, it was just that- a burger on a plate- no salad, no bacon. When we complained the manager argued with us and was very unpleasant. All in all the worst restaurant experience in years. Cons: Service, Managment, Customer Relations more

simple as this 2/27/2005

stick to breakfast here. everything else is ca-ca. especially the tuna salad. its nearly unedible... but the breakfast is quite good. their potatoes are some of the best i've had. Cons: long waits, street meter parking, nasty service more

  • In Short
The smell of fresh-roasted coffee wafts onto the front patio of this cheerful spot. Although warm sunshine is pleasant, it gets hard standing around to wait for a table as plates...
