Best

I have always been a big fan of Joe's Pizza for the last 20 years. It is a small establishment which moved down the block from it's original location which was right on the corner...

Worst

The pizza was very thin and it was slightly burnt...need I say more? Pros: good location, affordable Cons: crammed space, dingy, not enough seating

The place was a pigsty and the pizza was mediocre. For being so famous, this place is HIGHLY overrated. Will not be back! more

Great Pie! 7/28/2008

Thin crust, great sauce, just the right amount of cheese. $2.50 a slice $20.00 a pie, cash only. Best pizza in the village. Pros: pizza more

Good Pizza... Still up in the Air about the Best Anywhere thing though... 4/28/2008

Hmmm how do i explain Joe's... First i'll say its Good!! sometimes REALLY GOOD, and thats the thing, sometimes its better then others... Basically, i only ever seen plain, pepperoni, and fresh mozzarella .. those are your basic options... which isn't bad... sometimes the plain slice is amazing... sometimes its average... I'm just speaking honestly... Advice i'll tell you, Don't let them serve you a lukewarm/cold slice!!!! They will try!! When they are feeling themselves and think that they are turning out slices really fast, or are busy, they won't take the time out to heat up your slice... THEY AREN'T GOOD LUKEWARM... tell them put it in the oven or wait for the fresh pie to come out!! PLEASE!! I BEG YOU! Especially on a fresh mozzarella.. Next thing i'll say is, try some other slices other places... they beat most places, but not all the time... Still they make good slices... Pros: pretty good slices of pizza Cons: No seating, not many options, They will try to rush you, They will give you a lukewarm slice if you don't object more

rude rude rude 1/13/2008

I wanted to try this place, called and placed an order and the price was so high, and the man on the phone literally cussed me out when I called to cancel my order. I will not be dining there ever again. more

Best Slice of Pizza in NYC 7/6/2007

I've been to Ray's on Price Street, and while that is a great slice, Joe's takes the cake on the best slice. Thin Crust, great sause and the perfect amount of cheese. I love it!! Pros: The Best slice of Pizza anywhere Cons: No place to sit. more

Best in NYC, but not New Haven! 6/11/2007

Joe's is certainly the best slice in NYC, and one of the few places in the city that knows how to cook a pizza properly. The crust is thin enough that it burns just a bit on the bottom, and the cheese doesn't suffocate the sauce like those crappy superworldfamous double famous original ben's excuse for real Apizza. Maybe Joe's uses Pecorino Romano on top, who knows. Pros: Best pizza in NYC Cons: always makes me want Pepe's! more

World's best pizza - PERIOD 12/11/2006

Joe's is the best pizza in the world, not just within NYC. I am a pizza-phile; I was raised in central NY and have been a pizza junkie since birth. I've had pizza in NYC, Syracuse, Rochester, Albany, Buffalo, and every little town in between. Within the U.S. NY state is tops for pizza, and NYC has the best pizza in NY state for sure. I've been to almost all 50 states, all over Europe, Canada, etc. and eat pizza everywhere I go. I analyze and appreciate pizza to a degree most people might find absurd. Joe's is THE BEST slice or whole pie anywhere, anytime. If pizza nirvana is your goal in life, you need to visit Joe's. It has no equal on this planet. Yes, it is always mobbed, that's what happens when you serve the world's best pizza. And yes it is a tad ""hole-in-the-wall"" like all great pizza joints. If you are a true pizza lover, Joe's will rock your world and leave you coming back for more. When I visit NYC I visit Joe's multiple times; most frequently at 3am for my pre-bedtime pizza binge. Simply superb! Pros: Phenomenal pizza, open late Cons: Always crowded more

Now, this is good pizza! 9/2/2006

Nothing fancy in this shop except really good pizza! When you walk in, you only see a few pizzas behind the glass case. These pizzas are just the canvas of a beautiful work of art. You can add toppings to any of those pizzas and make slices beyond your wildest, tastiest, fantasies! We had pepperoni on one slice and sausage on the other. My favorite was the sausage. They used real sliced italian sausage and not the crumbled up, pizza hut kind. All the reviews were right on the money. Thanks Citysearch members! BTW, when you're done with your pies or slices, head next door to the Beard Papa Sweets Cafe. Get a few Vanilla Bean cream puffs. They're fantastic! Pros: Pizza by the slice, Very good slices Cons: Parking, Small dining area more

#1 slice without question 7/14/2006

When they say New York has the best pizza, they definitely must be talking about Joes. No matter where I am in the city, when I get an urge for a slice I will travel to Joes. The crust, cheese & sauce are perfect. Nothing beats it in my opinion. Get the fresh mozzarella slice... heaven! Pros: best slice Cons: limited space, fresh mozz not always available more

best pizza ever 6/25/2006

I have been frequenting Joes in Brooklyn which has the exact same amazing pizza until i finally had the opportunity to visit the original place. This pizza is perfect. It is the most perfect crust I have ever had and they are very generous with the toppings which are thrown on top last minute. Make sure to have their fresh mozz slice and be prepared to wait for awhile on the weekends- it is beyond woth it. Pros: amazing pizza more

Famous Joe's Delivers Great Pizza AND Service 6/18/2006

In the middle of Carmine St. appears as a small pizza joint, with only a single table and three counters for customer space. The entire place looks modestly kept, and one would not know of the great reputation it carries. I ordered a slice, and it was out to me, hot and fresh. As I walked over to one of the counters in the restaurant, another person coming in accidentally knocked my pizza face down onto the floor. The first thing I heard was not an apology from the man, but an offer from the cashier to give me another slice. And let me tell you, once I finally was able to enjoy it in peace, it was well worth the $3.00. I enjoyed it so much that I got another slice before I left. Famous Joe's Pizza serves the best pizza in the City. Pros: Service and Pizza Cons: This is definately a "to-go" place, and not a sit down restaurant. more

The Best Pizza Ever! 3/26/2006

I had to see what all the fuss was about, and I'm glad I did- it was the best pizza I have ever had, and it deserves all the street credit it gets! Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious!, Fast Cons: Crowded, Limited Seating more
