This has been a staple Chinese restaurant for us for years. Their salt and pepper Calamari is the best I've tasted! They have a wonderful selection at reasonable prices. Their staff is made up of traditional Chinese/Vietnamese waitresses, which typically don't emphasize customer service. Since we understand that, we only go for the food and not the atmosphere. This restaurant is just highly not recommended. The customer service is distinguishly impolite. The food is alright, but some time spoiled. It is expensive to compare to other places. Pros: Convient location. Cons: Bad service. Food sometime spoiled. Expensive more

There are two locations of Jin Wah, the Beaverton one is bigger and serves dim sum which I highly recommend. The service there is good and the food came out fast and tasty. The one on Powell Blvd is the older restaurant and isn't that great but I like to go there when I'm hungry because they serve food really fast. The pepper salted squid is the best and I always get it. The waitress there are more into conversating then customer service. Pros: Fast service. Cons: Bad customer service. more

Place has quite tasty food (I love the noodle dishes with seafood), although you can get pho elsewhere that has less oil and fat in the broth. The service though, was at times unacceptable. Once, the waiter refused to get us plates so that we could share our appetizer. In fact, he even had the nerve to claim that they did not allow people to share appetizers at the restaurant. At first we thought he was kidding, just to realize that we were wrong. After we told him how we were not receiving the service we deserve, he sent a waitress to help us instead. Based on user comments and the 9 rating, we drove from Beaverton to Powell for dinner, not knowing there was one a branch in Beaverton. The crabs were now $18, and when I asked about the $10 crabs someone was raving about here, the lady at the counter offered a small soft shell crab from their special menu, which was listed at $9.95, but then said she would charge me $10.95 for it! We ordered a couple of clay pots to go, and were surprised that these would only take 10 minutes. Past experience was these always took extra time, but the wait was always worth it. One of the clay pots was lamb -- it had gobs of fat, and the meat smelled bad. It was basically inedible. The shrimp with glass noodles was ok. We will have to find a better Vietnamese restaurant for our tastes... Pros: lots of menu choices Cons: too many more

okay, this place has the best place for lunch. it's only about five bucks, and i get tons of good food. and the pho here is only about five bucks, too, which is really cheap compared to the seven bucks at other places. a good deal overall. i highly recommend this place. more

the food here is good, and i like their boba. i try a new flavor everytime i go, and it's always been good and yummy! i love how this boba phase is hitting portland, and jin wah was one of the first i knew of to carry it, so they have the best that i know of. it's also really convenient bc i can do shopping for groceries or movies while i'm waiting for my to go, which i ususally opt for. dine in is fine, but i tend to prefer to take out bc it gets busy in there sometimes. they have a nice and friendly staff, but they seem harried at times, and i like to enjoy the food they have there slowly in front of my telly! more

Best Chinese I've had north of San Francisco. Fresh crab prepared four different ways, $10 per crab! Compare this to $31 market price at Wild Ginger in Seattle last week. We had garlic crab, and it was so flavorful and spicey. Also had Tom Yum seafood hot pot -- mouth watering, full of squid, fish balls, shrimp, scallops, clams and fresh veggies. They brought out a hot tea finger bowl with fresh lime for post-crab wash-up. Service was friendly and fast. I'm going back soon! Pros: Excellent Food, Inexpensive, Friendly Service more

i've received many recommedations to go, and finally went. It was an altogether wonderful food, good service place.the food was wonderful and the service was alright. having sat in a corner with my friends, we observed how busy the staff was, and was actually glad of the privacy we got. more

There's a very popular Vietnamese place everyone raves about, but it's all about where the locals go. A good indicator is the Vietnamese eggrolls, here they're not too thin like lumpia, or too thick like a Chinese eggroll. The coffee with condensed milk is filtered, not pre-made. We tried the shrimp paste banh dish and the pho, both very good. Price is more in-line with a traditional Viet restaurant, not an overhyped one. Pros: eggrolls more
