I took my RV in on 8/3/09 because it was sluggish, had oil on the top of the motor, and the leveling jacks were difficult to get to go up. they charge me $299.00 to test drive it,...

Great Company to Use for RV Repair 6/27/2011

I just read the comment made in 2009 by the former user and have to comment myself. I have had nothing but great experience with these folks at Kohr's. They are the only ones I trust to do my RV oil changes, inspections and other work. I find their work to be reliable, done quickly and priced according to normal standard prices. The people are friendly and are very helpful with warranty work as well. I highly recommend Kohr's! more

Antique Power Restoration 7/16/2010

We have known the Jansen's for over 50 years. They have rebuilt the engines on a '23 Pierce-Arrow Series 33 (no margin for error given the value), a '72 Cadillac Eldorado that we brought up to earlier Cadillac HP specifications, a '24 Ford Model T, and a John Deere "L" mini-tractor for me, plus a couple of small stationery engines. Their word is their bond, and their real expertise in my opinion is with antique equipment, although they will certainly repair your modern vehicle or equipment. Worth the drive down from Chicago with a "project" in the trailer. (I'm a member of the Pierce-Arrow Society, Packards of Chicagoland, the Hudson Club, etc.) more

REVIEW RESPONSE 8/27/2009

IN RESPONSE TO PREVIOUS RATEING PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ OUR RESPONSE, CUSTOMERS COACH WAS BROUGHT TO US ON 7/30/09 TO ADDRESS TWO CONCERNS. THE FIRST WAS TO ISOLATE CAUSE OF OIL COVERD ENGINE AND ENG. COMPARTMENT ALSO HAD A LOW POWER COMPLAINT CONCERNS OCCURED AFTER CUSTOMER HAD CHANGED HIS OWN OIL AND PUT DIFFERENT WEIGHT OIL BACK IN ENGINE.BEFORE STARTING ENGINE CHECKED AND FILLED ENGINE TO CORRECT LEVEL (THREE QUARTS LOW) POWER WASH ENGINE. UPON START UP ENGINE HAD A COLD ENGINE KNOCK WITH OCCASIONAL BACKFIRE HOOK UP ENGINE SCOPE ISOLATE MISS TO DEAD CYL @ #1 AND PLUG WIRE BREAK DOWN ON #6 ALSO FOUND OIL BLOWING OUT DIPSTICK TUBE AND OIL FILTER SOAKED W/OIL.CUSTOMER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED OF FINDINGS AND GIVEN A WORSE CASE CENARIO BASED ON INFORMATION KNOWN,( R/V WAS A 1994,ONE CYL DEAD,COMPRESSION IN BLOCK AND INTERNAL ENG. NOISE).SECOND CONCERN OF JACK LEG EVIDENTLY AIR IN SYSTEM OR DRY PACKINGS WORKED GOOD AFTER PURGEING SYSTEM CUSTOMER DID NOT WANT ANY FURTHER CHECK OUT ON ENGINE CONCERNS AND PICKED UP UNIT.REPAIR CHARGES ARE WITHIN INDUSTRY STANDARDS AND ACTUAL TIME BILLED WAS LESS THAN TIME SPENT ON JOB. NO FURTHER CONTACT HAS BEEN MADE WITH CUST., UNFORTUNATELY AS WITH OTHER OLDER EQUIPMENT REPAIRS, THEY TEND TO ESCALATE, WHICH MAKES A STRESSFULL SITUATION EVEN MORE STRESSFULL.WE TRY TO ADVISE OF THIS BEFORE REPAIRS BEGIN WITH A WORSE CASE CENARIO.WE STILL STAND BY OUR DIAGNOSIS BASED ON INFORMATION WE HAD.WE HAVE ALWAYS VALUED OUR R/V CLIENTS AND WILL DO SO IN THE FUTURE.THANK YOU!! MANAGEMENT OF KOHRS TRUCK AND AUTO. Pros: OPEN 24/5 Cons: DO NOT TAKE AMER EXP/DISCOVER OUTSTATE CHECKS more

motorhome service 8/21/2009

I took my RV in on 8/3/09 because it was sluggish, had oil on the top of the motor, and the leveling jacks were difficult to get to go up. they charge me $299.00 to test drive it, run the jacks up and down, and replace a spark plug wire. they then told me the engine was ""going south"" and gave me an estimate of $9,600.00 to install a new engine. (the RV has 41,000 miles) I took it home replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and PCV valve ($59.00) I drove it 370 miles to the lake of the ozarks and back, it ran great, did not leak a bit of oil and does not need a new engine. I believe that this kind of buisness happens to often when auto shops think patrons do not know any better, fortunatly for me I have alot of mechanical experiance and only took it to them because I really did not have the time to do the work myself. ( I made the time after their diagnosis)\r I HAVE TAKEN THREE VEHICLES TO KOHRS IN THE PAST AND HAVE SPENT OVER $2,000.00 WITH THEM BUT WILL NOT GO BACK AND WOULD CERTAINLY NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE AGAIN Pros: This is a covenient location, Cons: they charge for their time to give estimate more

They are incredibly honest 9/6/2005

I take the vast majority of my automotive repair work here. The family that runs this business has been in businees for decades and they work hard to keep their good name for themselves. They will tell you in any way that can help you to understand what is wrong with your car, what is needed to fix it and any and all costs involved. I have been taking my work there for years and have never been lead wrong. I highly recommend this busines. PROS: working hard to keep their good name CONS: just enough out of the way to make people think about going there more
