Jackie Spratt Cakes

What a shame! I fell in love with the pictures I saw on the web site. Living in Houston and having my neice's wedding in Dallas posed its unique challenges. Talking to Jackie on the phone was fine...meeting her in person, not so good! We nicknamed her ""The Cake Natzi"". I wish I had walked out at her rude remarks and calling my ideas ""garish""! I regret to say we paid her to do the cakes, both bride and groom's. The groom's cake was fantastic! Just what they wanted. I thought the bride's was washed out and lacked what I had envisioned! Also,it tased just like plain white cake! So I would not recommend her at all! more

I recently had an amazing wedding cake tasting at Jackie Spratt Cakes and we have choose her to make our wedding cake. First of all the cakes and endless choice of fillings were to die for. Second, Jackie was great and she is a real hoot. We are so excited to have her cake at our reception I just had to tell the world. If you are looking for great cake at and a good price Jackie Spratt Cakes is the place to be. more

I was so excited for my upcoming 1st wedding anniversary and wanted to make it special. In keeping with tradition I wanted a small cake that looks similar to our wedding cake. Our orighinal cake maker closed his shop so I dropped into Jackie Spratt cakes. Jackie Spratt's website said ""come visit us at our new location"" so I assumed that no appointment was necessary. What a mistake! From the minute I walked in the door, Jackie gave me the ""I don't have time for you"" vibe. When I asked her if she could incorporate our wedding ribbon onto the cake, she said that she wouldn't do it because she doesn't use cheap frosting ""implying that my wedding cake was cheap"". She then told me to go online and walked into the back area leaving me just standing there. I won't be recommending Jackie Spratt cakes to any of my friends with upcoming weddings. Nobody should have to go through that experience. more

Jackie and her daughter made our wedding cakes this last weekend. Not only were they more beautiful than I had even expected, they were the best tasting cakes I've ever eaten. Jackie is an expert in her field and we took her wise advice and direction as we met and discussed what would be perfect for our happy day. She knew how much we would need as we had exactly enough for our evening. Her personality was what attracted me to her when we met. She's honest and forthright. What more could a consumer want when seeking the best for her daughter's very special day? She gets 10 stars from me. I have already recommended her to everyone at the wedding who commented on the great cakes and will continue to do so for years to come. more

I was very disappointed to read such a negative review about Jackie Spratt's Cakes. No, they don't do themey stuff, it isn't that kind of bakery. Kroger--it definitely ain't. But they are most definitely very warm and friendly. And their cakes and cupcakes are out of this world!!! I especially LOVE the champagne delight flavor!!! And the almond pound, and I love the filled cupcakes in any flavor, and the chocolate with buttercream frosting--YUM!!! Ok, I might be hooked, but seriously, best product of its kind!!! The cakes and wedding cakes that I have seen and tasted are so gorgeous, and I would recommend them to anyone. But if you want a Spong Bob Square Pants cake--hit Kroger up. more

I walked into Jackie Spratt's cakes looking for something for a 50th birthday party. I wasn't familiar with the shop before entering. The lady that worked there (I'm assuming it's the owner) was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered in my life. After letting her know how many people would be attending, I was hoping to receive a sample of her work and an accommodating personality. Instead, I was told right off the bat that ""we don't do 'themey' stuff."" Before letting me get a word in edgewise, the lady brushed me off with a tirade about how she prides herself on her product, yadda yadda, which ultimately ended in ""if you have never tasted my cakes, you clearly would not understand."" I was literally being pushed out the door!\r \r How am I supposed to have tasted your product if I stumbled upon the store window-shopping? You make CAKES, lady. Get real. It's a shame for Jackie Spratt that she will never know who she would have been doing business with. more
