Worst

1 hour 53 minutes to deliver. I had already cancelled, left, eaten somewhere else, and was back home. Well done.

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/29/2014

The original location and just as good as when they first opened. I like to get a savory crepe or loaded french toast depending on my mood. Honestly I haven't had anything bad here. Park at a structure for two hours for free. Line gets long on a weekend at brunch. more

Good for dinner too 7/4/2010

If you're looking for a low-key, inexpensive dinner in Beverly Hills, Jack N' Jill's is a great choice. The brightly lit venue doesn't have the glitz of the surrounding fine dining destinations, but the food is fantastic, especially for the price. I stopped in last night with my wife. We shared thier chicken plate and tequila lime chicken pasta... fantastic, especially considering the total bill was around $25. Plus, we had enough left over for lunch the next day. Pros: food, portion size, price, location Cons: ambiance for dinner more

I have found heaven in a bowl of grits 2/19/2010

I love getting up early on the weekend and coming here with my family. Just about everything I ordered was good, but I must say that their grits is just to die for. I am not even from the South, but I could eat it all day long. Most times, I'll have my husband order it for himself as well, and he'll eat about half of it, and I'll finish it off. I know it probably takes a couple of pilates sessions to burn it off, but it's so good! Pros: Their cheddar grits Cons: Can't really think of anything more

Cool place for breakfast in LA 10/21/2009

Jack n' Jill's is a cool place for breakfast in Bev. Hills/Hollywood/Westwood area. It's got a fairly quaint vibe and the crowd seems pleasant and relaxed..as much as can be expected in L.A. The food was very good and it all seemed to be made from very fresh ingredients although some of it seemed very under seasoned and bland. It was obvious though that we were eating good quality food. I highly recommend Jack n' Jills (although i don't want it any more crowded for my sunday breakfast...right now the wait has always been 15 min or under.) it may take a few tries to find the perfect items for you, but you will find lots of goodies here!! i.e. the cinnamon croissant french toast. Pros: good location, and really good food Cons: some items are bland more

bad food, bad service, very overpriced... 6/21/2008

I'm 28 years old and this is the first review I have ever written in my life. I feel compelled to almost inform people about what a joke this place is. A group of 6 of us went there for breakfast...putting aside the food was not that good at all, it is outrageously overpriced. First, juice is $6.25 a glass!!! Then, omelletes are 12-13/each, which is fine if they are good. However, they went 0/3 in our group in terms of people satisfied with their omelletes. Next, service. After taking forever to take our orders, they get a few items wrong. First, they brought one party onion rings instead of sweet potato fries (mistakes happen, but thought I would point it out). Next, my sister orders a goat cheese omellete and she gets an omellete without goat cheese. How do you forget the main ingredient? Not a fan of this place. Pros: Good location in Beverly Hills Cons: Avg food, ridiculous pricing ($6+ per glass of OJ), below avg service more

GREAT Food & Service 6/15/2008

This place totally rocks. Wonderful food and even better service. We couldn't have asked for a better experience on Father's Day. Our waitress was amazing, even with the holiday rush. more

Jack and Jill's Been Good to Me 4/29/2008

My experiences at Jack and Jill's have been wonderful. The first time I went my brother and I were seated at the middle table next to the bakery and everytime we go we tend to get that same seat which we like. My food as alway been great, and our servers were wonderful to us. The blueberry muffin is one of the best I've ever had, served super hot. The butter just melts right into it. If we go for breakfast I always get the egg with salmon and the applewood bacon, very thick and hearty. I've also had the avocado and bacon sandwhich with sprouts for lunch and it is one of my favorite. I even dropped in once when I was in the middle of a photo shoot to get some water and they had chairs available in the front and water with lemon available for very hot days. We didn't sit down to eat or anything, just rest a little bit in the available chairs, me, my subject, and assistant. I also had my camera stuff with me. No hassle, the guy was nice, asked if we needed anything. The prices are very reasonable, the same as Roscoes Chicken and Waffles, who has actually gone up a dollar or two on their menu, but it's a better menu. With my bro and I together, we've never paid more than $25 food, drinks, and a few little extras. Great place. I would go again. Pros: Just park in the 2 hrs. free parking and walk over. No hassle. Not an uppity place. more

Crappy Service 1/2/2008

I have been there about four times in my life, and this past friday was the last. The servers will treat you better if you are dressed like you're worth money. The two times I went in there wearing sweats and a tank, I got bad service. The servers don't know enough about the type of food and product information, so don't ask them. The servers hardly come around, so don't count on a refill of your coffee, or extra cream or what-not. Pros: burgers are good Cons: the bad service really diminishes the probability of a good dining experience more

Health code violations and shady business 1/1/2008

While eating a Saturday morning brunch we were seated near the bakery counter in the front of the restaurant when we observed an employee dropping the ice scoop and bucket onto the dirty floor. The employee left it there for a few minutes until another employee picked it up and put it back near the ice bin. About 30 seconds later another employee started using the dirty ice scoop to fill 4 glasses of water!!! Pros: ok food, location Cons: lack of cleanliness, shady business practices, rude manager more

Star watching with great food! 8/10/2007

I just moved to Los Angeles, and am always on the lookout for a good brunch spot. I happen to be addicted to US weekly and I always see stars dining at Jack and Jills. I am not usually on the westside but I decided to travel west for an experiment. Once in Beverly Hills, I did some shopping with a friend and then we went to Jack and Jills. It was primetime, so there was a wait. There seemed to be alot of hustle and bustle going on with people on their lunch break. Looked like an agent at every table and I spotted Sylvester Stalone (bad plastic surgery by the way) The service was great, I got the strawberry oatmeal pancakes. The waitress recommended it, and she was right. It wasn't like going to some resteraunts in where the wait staff looks like they just got out of club and you are intimidated to speak to them. It was a very down to earth and cool place where everyone from stars to hipsters can dine. Unfortunately the only thing I have to say is that the food took a half an hour. The waitress apologized and then the manager came up and apologized as well. They ended up giving us our meal for free. If the scenary weren't so great, I might get tired of waiting. The greatest thing is that everyone fits in here, and I will go back again. more

Horrible service...old produce? 7/13/2007

Wow, was I sadly surprised by my visit to Jack n' Jill's of Beverly Hills today. I don't venture up to Beverly Hills often but I've seen this restaurant and suggested meetin to girlfriends there for lunch. Pros: Inviting menu Cons: Poor service, wilted produce more

Consistantly Excellent 4/9/2007

i've been a huge fan for over a year, both at the santa monica location, as well as this one... the food is what i always come back for of course, my favorites being the dayton salad when i pretend to eat healthy, and the selection of wraps and panninis. they do an amazing job with country fried steaks and burgers, and i love trying the new additions to the menu as they surface! the portions are always generous and prices reasonable, since they come with s generous salad and a chunk of home made cornbread. the coffee is very nice, and the tea selection (for the gf) is primo. the service has always been courteous and prompt, though on the weekends, they are packed! incidentally, i've spotted celebrities there with regularity, including jessicas simpson and alba! some of the waitresses are also in the business, as i have seen them on scrubs or some other tv show ~ i bring out of town guests to give them the full entourage experience :) Pros: satisfying comfort food in a hip ambience, without being cheesy Cons: can get crowded, but that's part of the vibe more

Good food, mediocre service 2/19/2007

The bf and I headed out there since we had passed it a couple of times going to Nate and Al's and the new donut place that opened up nearby. We went in for an early breakfast on President's Day and it was empty except for a couple of tables. He got breakfast and I got lunch, which seemed to be served all day long, even at 8 in the morning. I got myself the blackened chicken wrap and the bf had Rob's Big Combo so that we could try the blueberry pancakes. The food took some time to come out, even though there weren't that many people there, but my wrap was great and the portion was large enough for two people to share. His breakfast wasn't as big as the name made it out to be, because he got two tiny turkey sausages, two normal-sized pancakes and some scrambled eggs. If you're looking to buy by the pound, my wrap was definitely worth the $13, and his was almost the same price, but not the same amount of food. We ordered a couple of mochas to go, so that we could walk around the neighborhood, but the mochas took forever, they didn't put them in to go cups, so he ended pouring them in the cups. The cups came with dried coffee all over them, and then the waiter put them down and ran away without telling us which one was the non-fat vs. whole milk that we ordered. So we asked and they had made them both non-fat, so I had him remake it. And then it wasn't that good at all. Amandine on Wilshire still has the best mochas. So the experience wasn't all that great, but the food made up for it. I'll definitely go back there when I'm in the area again, but won't go there anytime I'm in a rush. more

Simply Tasty!!! 1/30/2007

Delicious food!! I'm impressed. One of my favorite breakfast spots. I come here at least once a week before work and the staff is always wonderful. The breakfast panini is wonderful. Everything just tastes so fresh. I can't wait to go for lunch some time. more
