i love this place! 4/17/2006

this beats any other hotel in the business district. the staff is all sunshine! i havent stayed there but i live 2 blocks from it and often go in for coffee or for snacks at their bar/starbucks. everytime i am in there the consierge is always happily greeting guests and everything looks perfect. i had a visitor from out of town who was there and when i went over i was surprised by how huge their rooms are. her bed was dreamy and the view was fantastic of downtown and all the lighted highrises - it looked like a postcard! the staff make this place though because everyone from valet to housekeeping is always gracious and happy to see you. you can tell a place is good and well kept when you can watch there be not one angry outburts at the registeration or coat check or valet all day! every guest looks calm and catered to by their excellent people. more

Awesome pool! 4/11/2006

The pool at the JW Marriott was fantastic -- it is stainless steel! The health club was immaculate, and the staff was above and beyond! It was the best service of any hotel we have been to ever! The location was not the best -- it was in the business district of Miami, so we couldn't see the beach. You also can't really walk anywhere. The rooms were nice. The conference rooms were great, however, the food at the conference was mediocre. more

Luxury Hotel 12/12/2005

The JW Marriott is one of the higher end hotels in downtown Miami. It is quite luxurious and the amenities are terrific. The rooms are big and spacious and the bathrooms are extremely clean. The staff at the front desk is very friendly. The downsides to the hotel include its location and valet service. The hotel is located in downtown Miami which is an absolute ghost town after it turns dark. There are a few restaurants nearby, but nothing to do. I would only recommend this hotel to business travelers who need to be in the vicinity. For everyone else, I would recommend a hotel on South Beach. Also, the valet system at the hotel is slow and inefficient. You can end up waiting a good while for your car and the staff is the most attentive to detail. more
