They really care about their clients and do their best to make your pet comfortable. Their price are also very reasonable!!

Worst

When I entered the examination room, I noticed that the exam table was covered in a lot of animal hair and what looked like dandruff and dirt (I am thinking "flea dirt"). So clea...

Didn't even Try 3/10/2011

I just called for a quote and they tried to tell me "they wont give one until they see the dog first and listen to its heart beat, the dog needs to have all vaccinations, and it depends on the weight and gender of the dog." Everytime I asked a question, the snob on the phone was quick to make excuses for not giving me a quote....sorry not giving you my money just to hear my dogs heart beat for 100 bucks and then give me a quote..no way!! more

Never again, they killed my dog 12/10/2009

Took my dog there and the vet had no idea what to do so decided to try first this med and then that med without any real idea of what was really needed. then they ran up the charges, for meds we never used, for meds they gave us and then told us not to use, for xrays and other fees. then they told us that they frankly weren't up to current with vet medicine or procedures and would recommend we see another vet, maybe in San Diego because "they have everything". the dog went from walking and otherwise healthy to dead within a week. I've talked to other people in Yuma who've had similar experiences with Ironwood and all agree they'd never go back there. There's a difference between a vet who works hard to save a sick dog but can't help it out and a vet who is just flailing about with no idea of what to do or how to do it. Ironwoods vet killed my dog. more

Ironwood=Bad Service, Rude to Clients 7/19/2009

We will never go to Ironwood Veterinary Clinic Yuma again. We'd been taking our dog here since we got him as a puppy, i.e. loyal customers. We needed to get our dog papers in order to fly, standard stuff certifying he'd had his shots and was safe to go on a plane. Ironwood Veterinary Clinic Yuma provided those to us for a fee. On our return trip, we are at the airport with the papers, and Frontier Airlines says they need an additional paper - a 'letter of acclamation' - stating that the dog is used to temperatures of 75-95 degrees (as it is now 80 degrees outside). We are now in Denver, 2 hours until departure for San Diego. The airline won't take our word for it that we live in Yuma where it's 114 and 80 will if anything make our dog feel cool...but...We call Ironwood Veterinary Clinic Yuma from the check-in counter to ask them to fax the required sentence over to Frontier. In short, they kept us on the phone with them for OVER AN HOUR arguing back and forth, in sum saying they "can't" help us: they've already filled out all the papers required by the state. We explained that we needed HELP NOW, or we'd miss our flight. Dr. Perry suggested we see a vet in Denver. What?! In short, we missed our flight, and had to pay all kinds of fees-vet and airline-and missed getting back to work, all because Ironwood "couldn't" fax this paper. As a (human) doctor myself, I found this to be assinine, arrogant, ignorant, and just plain rude and insulting, not to mention unnecessary. We will never go to Ironwood Veterinary Clinic Yuma again. more

Great care and attention! 8/29/2006

My wife Sahina and I took our English bulldog, Chaco to Ironwood after a not so pleasant visit at another clinic. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Our not so little puppy was taken care of and we very pleased with the service. My biggest thing was that I wanted to go to a place where the staff would be polite, happy and simply baby by little guy. The vet and her assistant gave us just that. They brought treats to give to him while he got his shots and were just eating him up. Besides the health care, that’s exactly what I was looking for. If only the receiving staff could be like that too, it would be even better. Ironwood offers pet lovers the very best treatment for their loyal friend, a welcoming smile and Chaco’s favorite part, the treats! more

Excellent Veterinary Care! 8/19/2005

We took our two labs to Ironwood Vet on recommendation from the owner of the kennel that we used, after a poor experience at another vet. We were very pleased with the services that the clinic provided. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We felt that our dogs were cared for and very well looked after. We also had a unique situation come about, as we were moving to another country that had a 6-month quarantine for animals. The quarantine could be avoided, provided that a lengthy series of procedures be followed 6 months prior to moving. Although the staff at Ironwood Vet was unfamiliar with this "pet passport scheme" (as it was newly introduced) they worked very hard to help us get it done. I can't recommend them enough! more

An Excellent Place to take your Pets! 8/15/2005

I couldn't find a category for Vets, but I had to review Ironwood Veterinary Clinic. People who are new to the Yuma area, or Winter Visitors, or people with new pets might be looking for a Clinic to take their pets. I highly recommend Ironwood. The Vets there are caring, and excellent at caring for animals. We take all of our many pets there. They literally saved our dog's life there, a few years ago. Our dog ate some dental floss (don't ask... dogs do crazy things), and we took him to Irowood. They had to do surgery, but our dog recovered, completely. I highly recommend Ironwood Veterinary Clinic. more
