Omaha Indian Food 4/17/2006

I had never tried Indian food before I visited the Indian Oven with some friends and I was very pleasantly surprised. The decor of the restaurant is very nice, although a little dark in areas. The food is great -- I recommend the Tikki Korma and all of the appetizers are worth trying. more

The Indian Oven 4/12/2006

I just celebrated my birthday at The Indian Oven and the menu selection was terrific. The special lamb for the evening was delectable as were all of the favorites like Chicken Tikka Masalla, Chicken Tikka Korma, Kadai Gotsh and Byrianni we ususally order. They had a special wine offering and as all of their wine selections, it was absolutely one of the best. Raj is always welcoming at the door and the bar and makes sure that your evening is complete. This is by far the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at. more

Omaha's Best Indian 9/21/2005

Indian Oven edges out The Sitar for best Indian food in Omaha. Menu highlights include the Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Tika (get a side of Korma Sauce) and the best bet for those indecisive: a veg or non-veg Thali (sampler). Food quality is consistently very good, service is always polite and attentive and the management responds favorably to criticism. Lunch prices are considerably more kind than dinner. There is a small selection of a few nice single malts round to out the meal. I have not dined here in the past several months, but have heard some murmurings that the restaurant is trying it's hand at a few fusion dishes. I find this a disappointment as we already have an Indian restaurant in town that leans toward fusion dishes, The Jaipur - and I find them less than desirable. Open for lunch and dinner hours (not in between) and reservations are recommended on weekend eves, I think they are closed on Sunday and the website listed above is incorrect. more

Indian Oven 9/1/2005

The Indian Oven offers some of the best indian food I have had across this country. The tandoori is first rate and the breads are beyond comparison. The prices seem a little high but the food is worth it. The lamb dishes are tender and flavorful and the vegetarian dishes boast aromatic scents to pull you into the restaurant. The open dining area is great for watching people. The service upstairs is considerably slower than downstairs but I suppose that is to be expected. The wine list is adequate but doesn't offer any surprises. more
