This business does certification of various aircraft as well as hot air balloon rides. We took our aircraft to be inspected, repaired and certified. When it was all said and done he kept demanding more and more money. Money to change the tires, money to store it inside a hanger and many other small charges that added up to thousands of dollars. When we went to pick up the aircraft, we saw clear signs it had been stored outside, it was dirty and muddy, the tires were changed, in fact the tires we had were replaced with OLDER tires. And when we refused to trade this man a part off our aircraft which cost $3,000 for a part that cost about $800....In other words he wanted our better part, we refused and he told us that we had better pay him $900 MORE dollars because he had remembered additional work he had done and if we didn't give him the $900 he was going to keep our aircraft and call the police and put a lien on our property. He got very angry and started issuing out threats and warnings.....We agreed to give him the money and thought, ""Well we got scammed."" We were going to learn from it an go on. Before we left Steve wanted to do one last thing to the Aircraft. He was still very angry we wouldn't give him the part. We walked away to gather the money. When we got the aircraft home we saw that under a hidden area of the engine, major line had been cut apparently with a blade. A line that would have caused us to lose control of the Aircraft and crash had we taken off without a final inspection. We are filing charges with the San Antonio police and have informed Steve that we have done so. Do not do business with this dishonest person who calls himself a Jehovah's Witness, yet he has extorted money from us, and allegedly sabotaged a customer's property in a way in which the FAA must not investigate. We have a San Antonio attorney and want to hear from anyone else with a similar frightening story. jadakaykay@yahoo
