Best

I only go here for Dim Sum. My advice is to get there around 11:30 am on a saturday. The food is more fresh because they just made it. And some much food rolls out. Authentic Asia...

Worst

Having sampled nearly all the dim sum in the city, the dim sum here is truly very mediocre for Philly. The remainder of the menu, while better than the chinese food at the mall, ...

Yummy Chinese 4/17/2006

One of the very few restaurants in Chinatown with a full bar, Imperial Inn is a nicely decorated place to have a special dinner. Prices are not the cheapest, but reasonable. Food is quite nice as well. I heard that dim sum is okay here, but for me this is a place for nice lunches or dinners. Great selection, fast service. The food was really good too. I didn't try the chicken feet and a few of the more exotic dishes but what I did have was great! more

Not the most authentic 3/22/2006

In my experience with the Chinese restaurants in Philadelphia's Chinatown, Imperial Inn has proven to be more of a touristy eatery than one for us locals. It is also not the most authentic. At other restaurants you see that most of the crowd is Chinese. Not so much here. I've also found the food at Imperial Inn to be blander, saltier, greasier, and overall, more Americanized than the food at the other restaurants. They charge more too. Everything reeks of MSG, and I get terrible headaches from eating certain meals here. (ex. Peking Pork, Walnut Shrimp- which was a bad deal since they gave less than other restaurants and charged more) But this restaurant is still all right. They have the nicest decor out of all the places in Chinatown (even though they've been around the block), and the service is okay. However, I came here with someone who spoke Mandarin, and some members of the wait staff could not understand him. They only understood Cantonese... more

Great Dim Sum 10/13/2005

Imperial Inn is my favorite place to go to in Philadelphia's Chinatown for Dim Sum. I enjoy the variety of dishes they have, as well as the option of ordering something right from the menu. Their prices are in line with the other dim sum restaurants in the area. Their dinner menu is also quite good. It is a typical chinese restaurant menu, but I believe that their food is of a higher quality than some of the other chinese restaurants in the area. more

Good Chinese food 10/6/2005

This restaurant has good Chinese food. Service is very fast and efficient. The food is reasonably priced and they have many selections to choose from. The Dim Sum is also very tasty. They are very friendly and happy to serve you. I would recommend this place next time you are in Chinatown. more
