I can feel spirit of a baker in this recipe 8/8/2011

I see a lot of mixed reviews, but here is my experience. We when out for breakfast on sunday morning. What a beautiful day for a patio, quiet and relax atmosphere surrounded by gorgeous architecture. I absolutely was amazed by service of our waiter Robert, from the way how he introduces menu special I was even more hungry. Fallowing his advise on cappuccino I could not be more happier, fluffy foam with large bubbles looks so good I had to take a picture, its was even better than I thought. I ordered ""Uova Alla Benedettina e Polpa Di Granchio"" ( oh boy there is whole recipe in this name :) It's a master pice of creative layers of goodness. BOOM! And not to forget best bread ever, I grow up on fresh bread like that. Perfect crust and fluffy dough mixed with olives, I can feel spirit of a baker in this recipe. more

Great deal 7/29/2011

Just went for a quick lunch there and decided on the Vegetable Pizza from the cafe section. For $6.99 I got a delicious, thin crust, burnt in the right places, fresh tasting, perfectly individually-sized (for a big eater like me) pizza with lots of gooey cheese, grilled artichoke hearts, eggplant, zucchini, onions and tomatoes. Great deal for Old Town Pasadena! more

This place is awesome! Best butter cookies, which happen to be my favourite! It seems every time I go there, I get the same cashier, I believe her name is Jean. She is always very nice and delightful! more

Wish I lived closer 7/25/2011

We were at the Pasadena il Fornaio over the memorial day weekend and had an amazing dinner. Our server went out of his way to accomodate our food sensitivities. They have an extensive wine list which we found to be right up our alley. Great Italian wines you can sometimes only find in Italy. Our meal from appetizer to dessert was excellent. Wish I lived closer to this location. I'll try more Il Fornaios because of this experience. more

The salmon bruschetta was to die for 6/21/2011

Recently visited for a special occasion. I had not been here in a few years, but this was a great experience. The Sunday breakfast/lunch (brunch) menu had a lot of great choices. The salmon bruschetta was to die for. I would go back just for that appetizer. The service was excellent as usual. more

Crazy good! 6/20/2011

Crazy good! I grew up eating Italian food, and it is hard to find quality stuff. When somebody suggested we come here, I scoffed. ""It's a chain - no way it will be good."" After the bruschetta, Ravioli alla Lucana, Linguine Mare Chiaro (girlfiend ordered - amazing) and a bottle of wine (forget the name), I was proven 100% wrong. I will definitely be back. more

Where is MY cake? 11/14/2006

Hi,\r I decided to try this 'restaurant' for my birthday celebration. \r It was the worse experience I've ever had! The service was slow and very inneficient. Half of the entree's listed were 'unavailable at this time', as were the best choices from the wine list. Even the flat bottled water could not be ordered!\r When it came time to have the cake, they brought me a cake belonging to ANOTHER PERSON!\r \r Throughout all of this, the manager was very impolite and unhelpful.\r Quite possibly the worse service I have ever suffered through!!\r Never go there! Okay food 11/14/2006

The food was mediocre. There wasn't a ""wow"" factor in any of my meals. I went there with a big group of people and we just didn't seem satisfied with the meal. I would probably go back if it was convenient. The dessert wasn't bad. There are other better Italian resturants in the area. Pros: Okay food Cons: No ""wow"" factor more
