Best

Ok so... I know you are all going to think that I'm saying this just to support my place of employment but, hear me out! I work at IKEA in the living room department. I just wante...

Worst

One would think that for such a big, international company, it would be well organized, right? Not the case! I tried to order two chairs online since there isn't a store nearby....

If you're looking for inexpensive yet somewhat decent quality.... 9/6/2005

Ikea is a good bet. (Since it's somewhat of a drive, make a list of anything else you might need for the home and look for it while you're there.) more

Great store, but so crowded 8/23/2005

If at all possible, DO NOT enter this store on a weekend, or right before the holidays. It is a madhouse. Even under the best of circumstances, this is not a quick stop. The store is designed to suck you and make you wander around, but as long as you are not in a hurry this can actually be enjoyable. They have great stuff, and a playroom/ball room for your kids. We bought their flooring for about $1/sqft to put in one bedroom and see how we liked it, and it's great. We might go with it for the whole house. more

Great place for every budget 7/7/2005

I first starting shopping here while on a student budget...fast forward 10 yrs and I still go back, this time looking for fun baby stuff, great candles, excellently priced patio furniture & the like. The quality has really improved over the years. Family-friendly in that you can start off your day by getting a bite in the cafeteria which opens before the store does. They also have a play area for kids and smaller carts for them to push around. Having a place to sit down & snack is really a lifesaver, especially when shopping with kids! And, it's in the middle of the store so you can just leave your cart on the side... It can get really crowded during sales and on the weekends. Employees very helpful in getting your oversized purchases to fit into your car! more

IKEA Home Furnishings 7/3/2005

They have the best selection of everything for you home at amazing prices and a lot of it is eco- friendly. This place is gigantic. They have some really great stuff. I bought my beds and couch there and I really love them both. The people who work there are super nice and helpful and it is just a great atmosphere. They have a little restaurant type thing and the food is amazing. Definitely go there if you can. more

For the young couple or college student. 6/15/2005

I highly recommend this place for any young person(s) looking to furnish their house/apt/dorm. The place is HUGE and the price is right. You will find colorful, unique furnishings that you will not find elsewhere. They have many full room displays there to give you ideas how to work in some of their items. They also have great colorful things for kids rooms. The prices at IKEA are always right! more

Great for Moms!! 6/15/2005

I visit Ikea at least once a month to shop and eat at their restaurant while the kids play in the playroom. I have alot of Ikea pieces in my house and love the country-style look that they offer. they do offer some weird stuff too, so if you're into the newest and latest thing, this is the place to look. It gets VERY crowded on the weekend, so if you can, go on a weekday. Be prepared to fight the crowds on sale days! It was a nightmare and not worth the savings for us. You might get lost in the store because it's so large, so be sure to follow the arrows to guide you to the cash register. And don't forget to take a peek in the As-Is section near the cash registers. You can find a lot fo goodies in there for cheap. more

Ho-Hum but.... 6/7/2005

There's not much for character here and the quality is so-so, but inexpensive is certainly at the top of the list. I do like that they have some natural pieces that can be painted. Also, most things are pretty "vanilla" in style and color, so they would work with many different decors. If you're just looking for accent pieces, you might give it a try. Good luck! more
