Ihop

OK, this is my sick little secret. I LIKE the International House of Pancakes. Hubby and I go for breakfast occasionally, since they closed down all of the Owens Restaurants. I usually get an omelet - they make them different that any place else! The egg is very thin and the fillings are abundant! Sides of hash browns are nice and pancakes are great with the hot syrup. I like that the give you an entire carafe of coffee and keep the water glasses filled here too. The IHOP on I-20 tends to get pretty busy on weekends. They DO close the smoking section down on weekends and make the entire restaurant non-smoking, however I prefer to be as far away from any hint of smoke as possible as I am pretty darn allergic to the stuff. They have never failed to accommodate my request. Service can be spotty - it's best to get served by one of the career waitresses. You know, the older lady with the comfortable shoes that calls you honey and sugar all the time. more

Great for your quick meal, breakfast for dinner sure why not.. We often order take out as my guy loves their stuffed french toast and they always offer great service, nice sized portions and a friendly clean atmosphere. Sure its a cookie cutter chain restaurant but its IHOP! They always have specials and if you are not a pancake type of person they have the best sandwiches and other lunch specials! more
