I had the unfortunate experience of living at The Sonata for 12 months. During my 12 months they went through 12 different leasing consultants. I should've known better than to sign a lease because while reviewing the documents and choosing a specific apartment the agent I initially worked with quit without notice and I was handed to someone else. Never a good sign when an employee isn’t happy.\r

You can hear every single word your neighbors say through the walls. You can hear someone walk normally upstairs, you can hear people close cabinets in the kitchen, you can hear EVERYTHING. I listened to my neighbors have sex every morning at 1am for 12 months. I'm perfectly aware that living in an apartment means that you will hear your neighbors; however, I've lived in 9 different apartment buildings all over the country and this was 10x the loudest I have ever heard. There is ZERO privacy. \r

Aside from the noise, they are dishonest. I asked about move-out charges before the lease was signed and was guaranteed that there are none. I read the lease word for word and it mentions none. After giving my notice to vacate (which I kindly did over 2 months in advance) I also asked to be present at my move-out inspection to avoid any additional fees. Their “service technician” came to my vacant apartment (the noise was so bad I moved out long before my lease was up for my own sanity) and told me that I had done a great job “scrubbing” the place, he did not see anything that needed additional work, and I would be getting my “full security deposit returned”. I went as far as to purchase my own new drip pans, spackle, AND PAINT from The Home Depot to avoid cleaning charges. Post move out… I was charged $80.63 in cleaning fees. I am currently in the middle of legal proceedings as I have no intentions of letting them lie to me as they have so many other people. \r

Aside from the noise, lack of privacy, and unprofessional (liars) leasing consultant team who quits and is replaced monthly, you also do not want to live here because there is never parking. Good luck getting a garage; they will tell you they’re available until you sign your lease at which point the waiting list is suddenly longer. There are no quest spots so your guests have to share the street with the Bull and Bush parkers… aka never going to happen. If you park in the dirt across the street you’ll be towed. \r

The hot tub did not work for the entire 12 month lease, I put in numerous service requests only for nothing to be done. They allow people to host pool parties in the summer so 100 people who aren’t residents are swarming the pool starting at 10am—good luck getting a chair, they are hammered by 10:30 am and will be there all day. \r

Please, if I can give you any advice, do NOT make the mistake I did and live in this or any Equity Residential apartments. You WILL regret it. They will lie to you to get your money and then you’re left with no other options. They will steal, literally steal, your deposit from you for no reason. \r
