Rude staff and junky furniture 8/31/2012

Horrible experience - if you don't mind walking around in a maze full of arrogant staff and purchasing particle board then this place is for you! more

Large Store and Inexpensive 5/2/2009

Great place for deals but not the best place for someone that can't walk very much. I end up spending more than I wanted to evertime I shop here. I love Ikea's ideas for small places and always go home with lots of space savers. I love the outdoor patio section and the clearance room more

Great Place for Modern, Cheap Furniture 4/4/2006

I love the look of Ikea, so when we finally got one here in MA, I was pretty excited. My husband's parents took us when they were in town (the had a rented car). The store is overwhelming - there is SO much stuff and if it is busy, that makes it even more confusing! I recommend going during a non-peak hour to insure a nonstressful shopping experience. Also, leave plenty of time for shopping, since the store is huge and full of many, many items. The prices there are great and you can even get there via public transporation (there is a bus that goes from the red line), although if you're buying large items, you will NEED a car. You will also need to set aside time to put together whatever you bought (if you purchase furniture). It is time consuming, but if you're trying to save money, well worth it! more

Worst Place to Go Shopping 3/31/2006

Went here with the wife and wanted to shoot myself. The store is a big maze, which is on purpose to get people walking everywhere before getting where they want to be. The crowds were worse than Disney World mid-day during summer vacation. We wanted to find these particular shelving units and we did find them in department X with a note attached to say, get these in department Y. We get to said department 20 minutes later and there was a sign that said "pick up these shelves in department Z," which was another 20 minute walk to a location 3 minutes from department X. What the? more

love the products, hated the shopping experience 3/22/2006

My husband and I waited months to visit the newly opened Ikea in Massachusetts, and maybe we should've waited longer. We knew the first few weekends would be crazy, but we figured a Sunday five months after opening wouldn't be AS bad. Well, we were met with awful crowds, stress, stress, and more stress. Find what you want is difficult, even though we went through the catalog and tabbed every item we wanted to see in person. Then once you find something you like, you must try to locate it in the warehouse. We spent hours and finally decided on which hutch we like for our new dining room, and once we went to pick it up at the warehouse, they didn't have it in the stain we wanted - a whole afternoon wasted, not to mention the 90 minute drive there. more
