When it's cold outside, IKEA's the place to be! 1/15/2007

I had the pleasure to once again grace the shopping megastore, IKEA in Canton, MI this past weekend. My family was in for the weekend and had heard talk about the grand store so we had little choice but to include a visit there in our agenda, not that I minded for even a second, IKEA being a favorite store of mine. Furniture or household accessories, whatever you're looking for to adorn your home, small or large, you'll find it at IKEA. I can't say you'll find the highest quality items or furniture but it's modern and inexpensive and with changing styles and trends, it's much more economical to pick up a trendy item from IKEA than to invest in an expensive, soon to be out-dated, item from a more pricey place. Their focus tends to be on organization and space management in smallish homes or apartments. They help a person to utilize a small amount of space by using walls or ceilings for hanging shelves or other items to take up less floor space. more

Ikea 1/8/2007

Ok, this is one of my favorite "house" decorating stores. The prices are soooo affordable and they have a huge selection. Its a total experience shopping at this store. The showrooms give you tons of ideas and then you can have a snack or dinner at the cafe and then you can finish your shopping experience in the basement and purchase all your items. Parking can get a little crazy. more

Me + IKEA = Love 11/28/2006

I fell in love with Ikea when I was visiting my brother in Atlanta, GA a year and a half ago and I've been gone ever since! When I heard they were opening a store in Michigan, I couldn't wait! I told everyone I knew - I told people I didn't know! I was so excited! I counted down the days till they would open and I was there that morning when they first opened and again that weekend. Apparently half the state was there also. It was like Christmas morning for me - I was in shopping heaven! The newness has since worn off for some but I still love to shop there every chance I get. I've bought a bunk bed for my son and curtains for my office, among other things! They have so much to choose from, and wonderful ideas for organizing the excess of stuff I seem to have obtained. Picture frames and mirrors now adorn my walls, pillows and a new comforter add to my son's new bed, a toy organizer keeps toys neat in my daughter's room and my kitchen has never looked so neat and organized - and all without breaking my bank account! Me + IKEA = Love more

I love Ikea! 8/12/2006

My hubby and I drove down to visit the new Ikea store in Canton, MI today. Wow, it was really busy and crazy! We had a lot of fun looking though. We have been to other locations, and this one was nothing different, although it was newer and really clean. While it was busy, there were lots of staff members nearby to help if you needed it. We didn't buy much today, just a few things for my daughters room, but we have bought larger purchases there before and it is always good quality stuff. more

I went.. 6/15/2006

and it was crowded and hectic. Most of the stuff reminds of either dorm or first apartment. I did like some of the things though. There is a huge selection of anything you could want for a house. It is jam packed like a warehouse. Also, you need a map to ever find your way out. I imagine the hype will die down. It is an interesting place, I would recommend checking it out. Prices by the way are not high, but equal to the quality. more
