I have been dining in Hush for many years took many friends to the restaurant recommended and enjoyed the ambiance greatly until last Saturday I was very surprise to see at 11 pm ...

Excellent Food, Premium Service, Superb bar scene 10/29/2007

I have never posted a review and decided that Hush deserved an Excellent rating due to the numerous times I have been there. I must have gone at least 10-12 times and I can say with full confidence that this place is an A+ restaurant. From my first experience to my last (so far), I have been impressed. The staff is friendly and courteous. Everybody is treated like a VIP. The ambience in the dining area is relaxed, yet chic. The patio is a plus, but dining inside is equally appealing. I have never tried anything on the menu that I didn't LOVE. I especially enjoy the Lobster and Crawfish Mac 'n Cheese appetizer and HIGHLY recommend it. Everything I've tried on the main course menu has always been exceptional, especially the veal chop and the lamb....YUM! Not only is the restaurant fantastic, but the bar scene is also chic and very fun to people watch. The drinks are always fabulous and they even serve premium rose champagne by the glass!! It is kind of pricey but its worth it. Highly recommended. Pros: Ambience, Food, Service, Driver that will take you home. Cons: Bar crowded on the weekends, need more restrooms. more

Hush? 7/23/2007

Hush, is hip and trendy, which seems to be the goal. The staff was polite, but not an A team by any measure. The glasses on the table were cloudy, not sparkling. There were bread plates, but never any bread. The fois gras was bland. The wine list was good, but when you get charged for a $300 bottle you never ordered nor drank you have to wonder what's going on. Pros: In town, Chocolate dessert, good martini Cons: Loud, tough to park, best to valet or just walk more

The food is tasty. Small portions. The restaurant also drives people home on Friday and Saturday nights within 5 miles. The service was pretty good as well. It is difficult to find parking without using valet, but this service is pretty reasonable. My only complaint is the cost. VERY expensive for what you get, you are paying for the location and the atmosphere. more

Superb 8/23/2005

Some friends and I made reservations for dinner before the pageant. They have an excellent prix-fixe menu, which complements a night out in Laguna. The waiter was fantastic, honest and extremely helpful. Resembles an LA restaurant in OC, but the service was definitely Laguna. Pricey, but definitely worth it. Awesome view from the patio! more

shhh IT'S GREAT 8/18/2005

I visit hush with friends, business etc. and never disappointed one time, I really like this place, great pours on drinks and polite nice bartenders, waiters. I have a favorite waiter ""Marcos"" from Brazil, he is the best I highly suggest to ask him to be your waiter. It is an experience on its on of first class service. The rack of lamb is great even though I am a steak man myself it is hard for me to stay away from the rack everytime. Price is right for the great food. Yeah you could eat somewhere else for 5 bucks cheaper a plate but hello look what your missing great food great place great staff. Its not worth the loss of an evening at hush to go somewhere else to save a few bucks, I know what I get before I show up ""no disappointments"" it's always top notch. Pros: Valet, Great food, Great pours more

My fiance and I did not have a good dining experience at Hush. The patio area was so crowded with diners, you better hope you don't have to use the restrooms or there is a fire as there is no room to move. The wine list and selection lived up to it's hype, however the food was average and we had a horrible experience with service. The server brought out my entree and my fiance was waiting over 10 minutes after mine was brought for his. He finally had to go to the manager and ask him what the deal was. The manager's comment was ""No, that doesn't happen here"", but guess what, IT DID! 15 minutes later they brought out his entree and had to take mine back to ""heat it up"". Great, paid a nice sum for my Nuked dinner. Go here to ""be seen"". Pros: Nice Bathroom, Great Wine List, Nice Bar Cons: Crowded Patio, So So Service, Over Hyped more

Didn't quite measure up 7/22/2005

Being from L.A., my husband and I decided to try this based on a write-up I saw in InStyle. We decided to try one of their signature steak dishes...which they were out of! When another steak item was suggested, it came over-cooked. We liked the look and feel of the place, but felt very rushed and completed our appetizers through dessert in less than an hour! Our waiter did comp us our dessert, but the prices are high and the portions very small. We'll have to take another stab at this place. more

Overpriced 6/7/2005

This place is so overpriced. The wine by glass prices were $13-$18. The tuna tartare was average and the two salads were small and indifferent. The entrees of halibut and scallops saved the meal. Both were excellently prepared and the taste was above average. The waiter was frindly but could have been more attentive in a very empty restaurant. The bar area looks great and the outdoor seating is a bonus. I just thought the price was extremely high. Pros: entrees, location, wine selection Cons: price, attitude, service more

Decent, but I wouldn't go back. 2/19/2005

Hush is a nice try, but cant quite be what it wants to be, and is certainly charging more than it should! Overall the food was good but not in line with the price. The pear salad was a failure, stuffed with cheese that did not compliment the pear, and then with a dressing that did not compliment either. The cheese plate was good. Meat in the main courses was overall quite excellent (we had pork, beef, and the Peking duck). The duck ravioli that accompanied the breast had a very dry filling and was tasteless. But, meat is definitely Hushs strong point. The dessert was average, with some strangeness. Cocktails were nothing special and overpriced. The atmosphere is pleasant and chic. The bar better than the dining room which is somewhat loud. Service was very good overall. Bottom line: I dont necessarily regret it, but I wouldnt go back. Pros: excellent meat, good service, chic atmosphere Cons: overpriced, poor desserts/starter more
