Bill @ Huntington Jeep was my last hope for a good honest and helpful salesman. I had been to four other local jeep dealerships and called many more while looking for a dozer color 2dr 2012 jeep wrangler. I had to scrap my old car and was in a rush to get a new one. To say i had a miserable experience at all these dealerships is an understatement.
My Stepdad owns a GMAC dealership in New Hampshire and I had worked there when i was younger so I had a very knowledgable source and a little background myself. As I visited each dealership around Long Island and called others in the NYC/metropolitan area I was straight with them in letting them my situation and warned that they couldn't pull any fast ones on me. Through real time phone calls with my stepdad as we negotiated every one of them had thrown in a bunch of curveballs in extra fees and all sorts of crazy fine print all while pushing hard for a deposit to secure the car. At that point I proceeded to walk out of each place with them literally following me out saying we'll try again with no BS. I declined strictly on premise.
Finally I got a recommendation from a friend to see Bill Jenkins at Huntington Jeep. By now it was fairly late on a weeknight and i was 45mins away but i called up and Bill answered. I arrived at 9pm on a thursday night and Bill had been at it since early that morning, he was just finishing with another customer (who left closing a deal and looking happy). I told Bill about my bad experience and he assured he would keep everything simple and that my stepdad could check everything. First of all, his genuine personality after working 10 or 12 hours and with me staying after closing time was amazing... We literally went through everything in about 15 minutes (not rushed - just because i knew what i was talking about and he wasn't trying to BS me). He saved me around $3500 combining his great final price, helping out with some incentives (even checking for others i may not have known about), and minus the BS fees that the other dealers were tacking on! Than he went the extra mile to ask if i owned a small business to get me enrolled into a program at no cost with tons of extra goodies like free oil changes... What a dream come true. I left at 9:30pm and picked up my new dozer wrangler at 2pm the next day. Just to add, all the other people I met at Huntington Jeep were all very friendly and helpful as well. If you're looking for a car in the tri-state area you will not find a more honest and easy experience than this one.
