I discovered this gem of a restaurant 6 months ago while staying at the Marriott. I've gone back everytime my business takes me back to Irving. Most recently I took 3 colleagues there for lunch and they LOVED it !!!\r The place is clean and tastefully decorated. The service is always wonderful. The best thing is of course the food. I have traveled all over Asia due to my high tech business so I know my Chinese food cold. You must try their spicy Marla Beef, it's the best outside of China !!! The Five Spices Duck is just awesome. The Tung Po Porkhuck melts in your mouth, the closest I can find this dish is in San Francisco Chinatown!\r If you like boring Americanized Chinese food, stick with P F Chang, but if you want some real, authentic, wonderful Chinese food, you can't go wrong with Hunan Dynasty. \r I only wish they have one near my house. more

I found a place to get my Chinese noodle dishes during my business trip this time in Irving. I will definitely stop by in my next trip. more

It is most authentic Chinese food I have ever tasted in Texas. The food quality and quantity are both Excellent! The service was very good and was open late. The food quantity was huge. We were tired and hungry and the food was service was very good. The decor is very good. more

I don't understand how some people gave really bad reviews about this place. They have a great selection of food and of the many that I've tried I've found to be very good. Besides good food, the presentation is excellent, the restaurant had a clean and nice atmosphere, and the service was great. The restaurant is even situated on top of a hill with a great view, especially at night! I would definitely recommend this restaurant, the dishes aren't expensive so you really don't have anything to lose. more

I worked closed by so my co-worker and I would order from this place alot. They give you large amounts of food so we would usually share our lunch. Well this one day (now keep in mind I'm 8 months pregnant at the time) we were eating the Combination rice and as we were eating we discovered a roach COOKED IN our food. I was sick to my stomach and had to vomit immediately. I called the restuarant to tell them about what happened and an asian lady answered the phone and said how could I says such a thing the chef is very upset.. REALLY?! I'm 8 months pregnant almost 9 and I almost ate a roach. I called the health department to file a report. Please RUN like the gingerbread man away from this place. It should ve been closed a long time ago. more

Food is decent but pickup if you can. 90 minute delivery time. Not worth it in my opinion. Too many other places around. more

My family has been eating here for the last two years, and we've always enjoyed our meals. Prices are great. Quality is better than expected. Wonderful family run place to eat. I've never experienced any health concerns here before. Accidents happen. I remember I found a hair in my food at Cheesecake Factory but I forgave them. If it ever happens to me, I'm sure I'll forgive Hunan Dynasty, too, and go back. more

I ate at Hunan Dynasty yesterday and I wanted to say that the food is still as great as ever. I have been eating here off and on for many years, and I have never had a bad meal here. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced, always hot, and very tasty. I had the lunch portionof Chicken and Cashews with Wonton soup, fried rice, and a spring roll all for $7.25, and I could not eat the entire meal. This is the very best mom and pop resturant I have ever gone to, and I will continue to frequent in the future. I recommend this resturant very highly. more

UPDATE: JUNE 21\r \r The Irving Department of Health posted their latest inspection score for this place:\r \r HUNAN DYNASTY 8150 N MACARTHUR BLVD #190 F NON-SMOKING 6/21/2011 \r \r That is an F - more than 40 demerits and requiring mandatory reinspection. Worse than ""failing"". \r \r ======================================\r \r \r We were served a bowl of crispy noodles - the cold, crunchy noodles that you get on the tables of most Chinese restaurants.\r \r We were disgusted to find, mixed in with the noodles, a fortune from someone's fortune cookie. \r \r The fortune cookies at Hunan Dynasty are all sealed in plastic, which means that our food had been served to at least one other customer, who used it for table litter. \r \r My wife and I both felt sick, queasy and disgusted after our meal - the chicken dumplings tasted 'off' - we both felt nauseous through the rest of the day. \r \r \r We obviously will never visit this place again. \r \r I've just searched the Irving Health department inspections reports, and Hunan Dynasty most recently recevied a ""D"" or failing rating. Hunan Dynasty has been my favorite chinese restaurant for years now. Me and my family have been dining at the restaurant for almost 6 years , and the experience is always pleasant. Their food is not oily like most Chinese restaurant, which is what my family needs. The food is very tasty and the price is decent as well. To top off the great food,the service is also always excellent and the ambiance is perfect.Love being there!!!! more

We love the unique menu, the Indo- Chinese cuisine is great! The traditional Chinese is awesome. This is one of the best in Dallas area. We have been to China many times and this is really a great experience to know Chinese food instead of Chung King Americano we have been led to believe is real. The Cilantro Cumin chicken is great and so is the Gen. Taos chicken, the Sesame chicken and the daily special is always a great change and very unique. We also like the Ambiance and views over the Valley Ranch. The wait staff needs training, but they are friendly and get the job done. more

I could not believe the quality and the taste of the food! Exceptional would be the word. The staff was very friendly and the service was outstanding. We loved the atmosphere and the view was awesome! I will certainly tell all my friends about Hunan Dynasty. They have a full bar and even have TV's you can watch if you want. A perfect evening, a perfect place. A must try for sure! more
