Beware of bully with no consequences in this school 6/5/2019

For the past 6 years, I see the school and teaching quality is going downhill. Teachers are doing nothing to stop bullying behaviors. There are no consequences and the written rules are non existence. The teacher simply doesn’t care when a student bully and hurts others in class. They are very not professional. They need to eliminate bullies and not keeping them in school just for money. It’s important to protect the safety of other students. more

Bad!!!! 11/26/2017

As a student I enrolled in this class a few years ago and it was okay. But, later as I progressed into the final years of middle school, the quality went down the drain! They will give you hours of homework most of which hasn't even been covered in class. Instead of aiding the student understand the concept, all the teachers do is cram different concepts and formulas into students head. All this school had done over the years is make students self-confidence plummet and make them hate math. Would not recommend this place to ANY student more

Hate it 10/29/2016

As I was a participating student I can say this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The teachers don't explain it that great and never give real life examples we can relate to. they give tons of homework, where most of the problems aren't even in the outline (practice worksheet). For me instead of learning more, it brought me down and I can say now that I hate math because of this class. I would highly suggest you find another math class where you actually learn more

Hua-Hsing Chinese School Math and Engilish Classes Review 12/14/2014

My three children went to Hua-Hsing Chinese School for Math classes. Two of them are in college and don't go to this school any more. My youngest one still goes to this school in Math and English classes. Over the years, the standard of this school has gone down from very good to a poor. The reason - in Math classes, their syllabus used to be one year ahead of what was covered in PISD schools. Now a days, they are at least one semester behind PISD schools. On other words, Math concept is covered first in PISD and later in this school! There Engilish Verbal and Writing classes are a joke!. It is a waste of time and money to put a child in English classes in this school. My daughter learnt absolutely nothing. They don't test kids in this class. If they do test, instructor does not return tests back or gives any feedback. It was complete waste of money! more

lots of homework 9/8/2014

My both of my kids are in middle school, and they have a lot of homework. So I sent them to Hua Hsing Chinese School and they are learning, but, the Chinese school gives 10-12 pages of homework each week. For my kid's this is a lot more homework piled up on top of their regular middle school homework. Very hard!!! more

Enrichment 11/28/2010

This is my first year enrolling my elementary aged boys at Hua Hsing. We learned about the program from another mom in the Plano ISD. We are not from Plano ISD but travel for the extra enrichment. I have found that the math program is excellent. However the reading and writing program rather weak. I suppose it depends on the teacher. Nevertheless for the price, a couple of hours of extra exposure on a Sunday afternoon can't hurt. more

Hua-Hsing school 8/26/2009

If you have an extra hour on sundays, it's a good way to make your child practice a little more challenging math than what they learn in Plano schools. They don't really teach efficiently but a great way to encourage kids to work harder and practice to their edge. more

School Review 8/12/2005

Hua-Hsing Chinese School is an old school in the Dallas area. They have trained a lot of teachers who later opened up quite a few schools in the local area. So in this way they provide a great services for the Chinese community. Hua-Hsing is big. They have over 1000 students in their weekend classes, which include Chinese, math, English and others. The biggest in its kind. They also have summer school. This year, they start up a after-school care. Overall, they are pretty good. The curriculum is pretty stable. more
