Local Library 3/24/2006

The East Columbia branch of the Library is set up in a wheel and spoke design. The center of the library has a set of computers and desks and the different sections - fiction, biographies, travel, etc. - are spoked out from the desks. If you want a quiet place to study or read, head for the back of the library near the windows. It is more quiet than the other areas. They have a nice on line system to renew and reserve books. It is easy to get a library card and they also offer movies, CDs, and books on tape for borrow. However, book selection is better elsewhere. more

great space to study, not so great for books! 9/20/2005

The branch of the library on Cradlerock Way is spacious, with quite a few computers and plenty of desks for studying or reading. It's also nicely laid out, quite modern looking, and well lit. The books, however, are a different story. They all seem to be about 20 years old. Books that are supposed to be on the shelves are often missing, and the books that are there are certainly not new releases. The new catalog search engine on the library's website doesn't function well either, so overall, the experience is very frustrating. more
