I'm part of a weekly Wednesday drinking group of 30 or so regulars who love to drink, geek out, talk and eat after work. We check out a different bar each week. We've been kicking around the city for 12 years. In that time we've visited several hundred bars (with repeats of faves). This place is similar to the Ginger Man in midtown-- amazing beer selection, but because of it, they suffer from overcrowding at times. I'm a big fan of wheat beers, berry beers and winter ales, House of Brews does not disappoint. The food was good, the service was erratic, but a group of 20 can be unwieldy at times. It's interesting to see which establishments can handle large, unexpected groups with grace. Next time, I'll call ahead when I have a group of 5 or more to guarantee seats. I think we'll drop in on the two other bars a few doors away before heading back to House of Brews for a second visit . They caught my eye while smoking a cigarette outside.
Pros: Beer Selection, Decent Food
Cons: Crowded
