rejected every quality title I had for sale 9/28/2010

What an arrogant business owner! I perceived negative disinterest from the moment I walked in from the elder man who seemed to be in charge. A very friendly and intelligent young man working for him had more knowledge of literature and familiarity with curiccula- however owner man wouldn't accept the guidance. Judging by the books of mine he declined to purchase I am certain he has nothing on the shelves which would interest me. If your looking for candy bar literature or a narrow inventory antique books- this is your place. If your looking for enriching classical literature, home education curricula, or a book seller with knowledge and passion- stay away! more

not all that great 9/22/2010

found this place to be well pretty bad. had called beforehand about coming by with a ton of books to sell. not only were the salesmen condescending they also turned down books that were in better condition than half the ones that were visible. (and yes they were titles they didnt have) more

Has Gone Downhill Since Changing Ownership 2/26/2008

I use to frequent this store. Noticed last year that it was going downhill. Prices were being jacked up. Stickers were being applied to books that won't come off without damaging the books. Inventory in certain categories was pathetic. Figured it had had changed hands and confirmed later that it had. Too bad. more

good local book store 11/20/2005

Hooked on Books in springfield is a good place to check when looking for cheap books. They have a good selection for books that have been out for some time, quite a few hardbacks and other rareties. If you are like me, and do not like paying MSRP for books, this is definately a place to check out! more

good bookstore 11/12/2005

This is a really nice bookstore with a large number of books and a great selection. They also have fairly good organization here which is sometimes lacking at other bookstores that you may visit. Prices are not too bad, but it does depend on the book that you are wanting to buy. They are located on the south side of Springfield and parking is pretty easy to do. Another great gem of a bookstore in Springfield. more

Great for Hardbacks 11/11/2005

This bookstore has a great selection of hardbacks that are in the main part cheaper than their paperback counterparts. Plus a really good selection of 1st edition and signed books also makes this one a great place to go. more
