Horrible customer service and this is coming from the owner went in for a simple break inspection that was suppose to be already inspected by them before I purchased the vehicle had the vehicle for two days took it there so they could just see why they were squeaking was told had to make a appointment said ok he said plan to leave the vehicle all day I asked why if you already inspected them owner said well I don't know what you did to them they were fine when we looked at them I haven't even finished signing all the paperwork on the vehicle yet i thought it was unprofessional I would never recommend this place to anyone and I am usually for small businesses but they sometimes need to be educated on good customer service! more

Epic Fail 5/10/2010

I brought my car to Home Town to complain about a minor suspension issue. They told me they'd take care of it and charged me 400$, I got the car back and the problem was NOT fixed. They refused to acknowledge that the problem was still there and would not even try to reach a resolution amicably. I've been force to file a claim with them because they refuse to even talk to me now. Pros: None that I can think of Cons: Rude, Lying Manager, Does not stand behind work more

On the Money Service 3/3/2010

We have used HomeTown Auto for years, as a matter of fact my mom, and now my daughter use Stacy for all their auto repair needs as well. Hometown is like our home, we feel comfortable and recommend him to all our friends! When our car breaks down Stacy understands that were unhappy and always seems to brighten our day. Once he even came to our house to help us start our car, and he would except payment for his time.\r \r In short We Love HomeTown Pros: Honest, Dependable,Great Service Cons: Blunt more

Our mechanic for years 5/26/2009

My husband and I have used Hometown Auto for years and have brought in several family members and friends who have also used this shop for years. Stacie is honest, an excellent diagnostician and yes, he can be blunt, but, I would rather have that than some one selling me something I don't need for my car. He is far and away the most honest, trustworthy mechanic we've ever had. more

Rude service! Avoid at all cost! 3/25/2008

I took my truck in to Hometown for a second opinion on the recommendation of another mechanic. Intially the owner of Hometown found that the problem was low fuel pressure and that I needed a fuel regulator and new fuel pump. Then to check the egine noise he found four different problems with my truck engine that had been recently rebuilt. So I contacted the mechanics that rebuilt the engine and told them that they could go down and see for themselves. By the time they looked at the worn block with the with the cracks in the cylinder sleeves the owner of Hometown did a 180 degree turn and called me a liar and told me that the other mechanic did everything I paid them for. On top of that I was charged over $700. for the fuel pump work! The owner is errogent and rude and I would never advise anyone to use this company. more

Avoid this Auto Repair Shop! 7/26/2006

I took my car into this shop (which came highly reccomended) to get some regular maintenance done: a timing belt & water pump & three S-belts. I take care of my vehicle by keeping up on scheduled maitenance and tried a new shop out (instead of taking it to the dealership) to save a hundred bucks. Big mistake. $500 dollars later, I got the car back - and there was a rough idle to it that wasn't there before. I took it back in the next morning and the mechanic who originally worked on it felt the rough idle and said he'd take a look at it. The mechanic offered to adjust the valves which were slightly off to see it that would help the problem - at no charge since ""they wanted me to be happy with it"". The rough idle was still there though - and when I called the shop the next morning to speak to the owner and see what they could do, he informed me (and dropped all pretense at former politeness) that he was ""out"" and they would no longer work on my car to correct the rough idle. He said that had he been there when his mechanic adjusted the valves for me - then he would have charged me. He said that the work the mechanic did is correct and that all his shop will stand behind is the work they did - not for the way it operates now. I tried several times to mention that the car didn't run this way (this poorly) when I brought it to him, but he dismissed that and said they were not responsible for the way it opperates now...only the work the did to it and that the work they did has no bearing on my rough idle. ( ! ) Before we hung up, I told him how stunned I was to be treated like this and he said ""I bet you are"". To add insult to injury, he rudely told me to ""have a wonderful day"" right before we hung up. I was (and am) stunned, upset and angry. I've never been treated this way before as a customer and I certainly will not be back to them - nor will I recommend this shop ever.\r Cons: extremely poor customer service, rude owner, won't stand behind work more
