I would prefer not to buy my books here, but I think this store is much more spacious than the other bookstore on campus (VCB). The store offers book, school supplies, posters, souvenirs and gifts but they are always more expensive here than compared to the VCB. This store, however, is very convenient for students since it is right in the student center. more

HSC bookstores is pretty expensive! They have a wide variety of stuff but the items are expensive for students. I found that the books were highly priced here than in some other locations. The college stuff (t-shirts, caps, etc.) is the same as in other places. The quality of clothes is nothing to rave about (for the price range) It does have a nice collection of gift items. But it would be my last resort. more

Books and school supplies 8/10/2005

Holmes Student Center Bookstore is located on the lower level of the Student Center building on the NIU campus. They have new and used books. They also have a variety of NIU paraphernalia. They sell school supplies and art supplies as well. There is an elevator in the Student Center to take for handicap access. more

Super convenient and 8/4/2005

This bookstore offers quite a variety of items. You can order your graduation announcements and pick up a birthday card in the same place. They have a vast array of NIU stuff, including clothing, stuffed animals and paper goods. They have a nice electronics counter. A great place to pick up an umbrella if it starts pouring. They have a minimal art department and their textbook section is a bit confusing. There is a good selection of smaller gift items like picture frams and notepads. more
