I decided to check out a movie at the local Hollywood Video here in Downey. What a mistake! I walked into the door and was immediately stopped by a clerk who told me that I was required to check my shoulder sling sack. I was caught off guard by his request and then felt thoroughly insulted when I noticed several women in the store carrying huge purses. To add insult to injury, as I was walking out of the store, a woman walked in carrying an over-sized purse. What did he say to her, "Welcome to Hollywood Video Mam."
I left. Discontentment does not even begin to describe my current state. If this policy is indeed in place, as the young man stated, then Hollywood Video is in desperate need of some sort of an audit.
I have lived in Downey for more than 16 years and, as a resident, I have to say that I am perplexed by this discriminatory policy.
I am considering what further actions, if any, I will take.
Pros: don't know, I wasn't allowed in the store
Cons: don't know, I wasn't allowed in the store
