Historic Wilhite House

1. The food was fantastic. 2. The carriage was awesome. 3. The wedding planner (Casey) provided as an optional paid for service though the wilhite house went above and beyond. From the rehearsal to the day of- she was AMAZING. 4. A forecasted change of weather was fine as we were informed that heaters would be provided. During the reception, the father of the bride requested they be used and was informed of a 300 charge. After pulling 3 100$ bills out of his pocket, he was informed there was not any fuel for the 3 heaters and received his money back. 5. After prepaying gratuities, same father of the bride...was informed that more gratuities were needed for three extra people which were close to 400$. There were several other things that really aren't worth mentioning. Noone can predict the weather when planning a wedding, however, the weather channel does a pretty good job of informing 3 days prior of a change in weather. We were assured that the cold snap would not affect the event due to heating preparations. Unfortunately, most of the reception party goers were stuck inside due to the cold and many elderly had few places to sit. After milling about inside, they began leaving. My advice? Anything that sounds too good to be true...IS. Realistically, any wedding has its fair share of challenges, however, the bombardment of the FOB for more and more money (after paying over 12000 for this ""party"") was disgusting. All in all, I would rather have ""subcontracted"" out all the services separately...and dealt with the stress PRIOR to the big day. The one thing that everyone remembers from the reception is being stuck inside standing around. more

Josh and I were married at your venue on May 12, 2006. I wanted to write you and let you know how much we enjoyed having our wedding at The Wilhite House. All of our family members were from out of town and were highly impressed with the house, the grounds, the decorations and most of all, the FOOD! What Josh and I were happiest about was that the pavilion was done in time for our wedding and we were able to have an arbor ceremony, our reception in the covered pavilion and the older friends and family were able to enjoy the inside of the mansion. You and your crew made us feel welcome and appreciated on our special day.\r \r I photograph weddings every week for a living and have seen many wedding venues. Josh and I agree that you were the best choice for us and when asked where we were married, we proudly answer, ""The Wilhite House.""\r \r Josh enjoyed himself so much that on our honeymoon night he said,\r ""We should do our anniversary at The Wilhite House."" more

I'm sorry that I am just getting back with you. Cheryl left me a message the other day wanting to know about the photography. I am using White Dove Portraits that is in my hometown, and my dad works with the Photographer...Julie. She has actually shot some pictures at The Wilhite House for some brides. When I told her that I was getting married there, she had nothing but GREAT things to say about you and your staff! Hope you are doing well and I look forward to doing some more planning. As you grow up, it is normal to dream of your wedding day. When the day arrives, the grandeur is much more than in your dreams. As we planned ""our day"" there was a flurry of activities with continuous meetings, telephone calls, errands, etc. etc. It was your constant support that made ""our day"" such a success. There are no words sufficient to convey how much we appreciate your opening your home to share this special event with our family and friends. It was apparent and deeply felt that this day was as important to you as it was to us...and wasn't it magnificent! more

Thank you so much for such a beautiful wedding. Everything was just the way I wanted. You made my fairy tale wedding come to life. Ya'll have become very near and dear to our hearts. When we had trouble with the wedding plans, you were there. You helped with our photographer, minister, DJ and more. It would have been a mess without you and with you it was a dream come true! Thank you so much for everything! Everyone was amazed at how beautiful our wedding was. Especially the carriage ride...I have heard more about how beautiful that was and best of all I felt beautiful doing it. I could not have pulled off this great party without your help. The chocolate fountain, the great coffee, the music, the dancing and the atmosphere was exactly how I imagined it. And with the heaters it felt very comfortable. OMG Lori, Holly & Chris’s wedding was GREAT! I’m not much with words but just KNOW how VERY PLEASED the Cagle and Jones families are with everything and every person affiliated with The Wilhite House. First your home is just beautiful and thank you for sharing it with all of us. Your staff was friendly and wonderful. Your coordinator worked her backside off and I am sending her an email also. We think she is outstanding. The food/drink and cake were amazing. Please know it was noticed the great lengths that you all did to ready everything for the wedding after the rain. I wanted everything to be just the way my baby girl imagined her wedding to be and it was! The two words: “THANK YOU” just aren’t enough to express to you and everyone at The Wilhite House for all that was done to make August 21,2010 such a special one for Holly and Chris and everyone who attended. We think The Wilhite House rocks and I am forever indebted to all of you for all that was done. Please let the owner of the horse & carriage know that Chalk and the buggy were beautiful and how much I appreciate her time and management of her magnificent horse…and last, but not least, please thank your son, Josh for a job well done with the music!! Michael and I would like to thank you both, along with your staff, for making our wedding day perfect. Everything was so beautiful and just the way we dreamed our wedding day would be. Your staff was amazing; all of our guests were so impressed. Your recommendations were perfect. I keep looking at the pictures just to remember how beautiful the house, gardens and food set-up was. Our guests still talk about how much fun they had as well as how beautiful the wedding was. One of my bridesmaids said, ""Your wedding was like every girl's dream come true."" So thank you for making our dream come true. We wish you the best in the future with all of your events... Maybe we can celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary with you guys!!! more

Kaycee and I would like to thank everyone at The Wilhite House for helping out with our Wedding Day. We had a wonderful time and made some memories we will never forget. Our family and friends are still talking about that day. They have also commented on how beautiful the house is and how beautiful the grounds were, and were amazed by how beautiful the food presentation looked. The melon with our initials was beautiful. The guests at our wedding had nothing by Great things to say about the food. The Cadillac ride was relaxing and entertaining. Jim is a great guy, and funny. While we were driving he would honk the horn and let everyone know we were just married and we soaked it in! We were the center of attention and were on cloud nine. Josh did a good job selecting the music and making sure that our ceremony music was perfect. Thank you Josh for a job well done. Just to let everybody know that I was a recent bride at The Wilhite House. I loved everything. It was great and I would recommend it to anyone. The owners even went out of their way to fix a problem we had with our florist...they called one who is a friend of theirs for me and had the problem fixed in less than an hour. Also, they did all the work for us...and the cake was awesome! I am a happy bride! more

Brian and I wanted to thank you for our beautiful wedding. Everything was so nice! I still have guests telling me how beautiful our wedding was. When I walked out of the house to walk down the aisle and saw all of my family and friends sitting in the beautiful garden, it brought tears to my eyes. Our wedding was everything I ever dreamed it would be! Also, Brian wanted to make sure to tell you that we really enjoyed having Josh DJ at our wedding. I was worried about the music because we have such extreme tastes, but he did a fantastic job of playing everything we love and playing plenty of crowd pleasers!
