AMAZING!!! 5/5/2006

I am from Tennessee so I am used to a totally different kind of barbeque. Texas barbeque has never impressed me that much, until Harolds. My boyfriend, who hates barbeque, ate there with his class. Since then we go about once a week for a Q Basket. The sandwiches are messy, but delicious and the cornbread is incredible. Also it is one of the only places in Texas to find sweet tea. It is only open for lunch and is closed on Sundays. This is no doubt the best food in Abilene. Pros: Inexpensive, Extremely Friendly, Good Family place Cons: Long lines, Not a date place more

Harold's Place 3/23/2006

Harold's Place may seem like a hole in the wall, but this restraunt is untouchable by any BBQ restraunt loacted in Abilene. The food is undescribable. And Harold's home made BBQ sauce is unmatch by any other. Other's have tried to recreate his signatured smoked meats, but not can come close to the King of BBQ. We have even used Harold's place to cater some of our church functions. Not only were we pleased with the food, but delighted in the Song that Harold sang for us. I highly suggest the signature Hot Water Cornbread. This place is one of Abilene's Landmark in BBQ. more
