My partner and I visited the Happy Sumo on a late saturday afternoon. The place was busy (a good sign) and I loved the decor, very modern and clean. I had the Pro Sumo Combo (Sunset roll, 2 inari, 3 nigiri ) and my partner had chicken teriyaki (again....always with the chicken teriyaki). Although nice inside, the place seemed a little scene-y to me....like it's a hot spot or whatever (and I'm sure it is). This may be a draw for some people, but it's not my thing. Since the place was busy service was a bit slow, but the waitress was very nice. The food was good...everything fresh and tasty. The presentation was lovely. And the cost....around $45 including tip, so not bad. However, I have to say that it's sort of hyped as ""the best sushi in SLC"", and I thought that Nagoya was just as good, and definately less of an ""it"" place, which I like.
Pros: fresh sushi, good service, cool interior
Cons: it's super hyped, and it's really not THAT awesome
