Great Brunch Buffet 12/2/2007

I have been to Hannah Bea's a few times and have always had a good experience. We have always gone in the morning for their brunch buffet. The food is what they say it is... home cooking. It reminds me of breakfasts my mom would make me when I was growing up. The biscuits and gravy are addicting and the coffee is memorable as well. When you walk in it feels like a family owns the place and is very comfortable. Give them a try and see for yourself. Pros: Great Food, Great People, Comfortable Atmosphere, Good Location Cons: None. more

Food I think Not 10/18/2007

This was worse than the mess hall food I had in the army. The dehydrated food pouches we had to choke down were better then the breakfast served here. I am seriously shocked that this place is still around. I have to say that this is the worst breakfast in town. I would go as far as to say that Biscuits on Sandy is better then Hannahs. I think that the breakfast that they served had been left over from the week before, ran over and sprinkled with saw dust. Absolutely disgusting slop pawned off as home cookin. Pros: I don't ever have to go back Cons: Everything more

HANNAH BEA'S LOVE 9/25/2007

We work hard at Hannah Bea's to make sure everyone is happy. Sometimes things don't work out the way we wish, so it's great when someone gives us the chance to make it up to them. . You come to small business because you still like the fact that they use real butter and chrack their own eggs, and you love them for the heart and soul they put in their business, and with understanding and pride you support them. Don't be so quick to undermind them, and put them down on one visit. Please make sure you given them a fair chance to show you what all the other thousands of people all ready know. How very specail they are, Pros: They Care Cons: Need more of them more

Not so good. 9/11/2007

Ok, so this place might have some good poundcake, I didn't try it. And the server was nice enough. But the food was pretty bad. My friend ordered breakfast, which was scooped out of the buffet table instead of freshly cooked. My sandwich didn't really resemble the description on the menu and was served on a stale hamburger bun. We also ordered some soup, which turned out to be broth with a couple frozen vegetables thrown in. So, we won't be back , too bad since it's right near our house and could be a great breakfast place. Maybe if they hired a new cook? more

Great food, wonderful atmosphere 7/12/2007

Hannah Bea's is a wonderful place to eat! The coffee was excellent, and the food was great. Not too wonderfully gourmet, but not like cafeteria food, either. If you're looking for a more froo-froo breakfast (akin to what one might expect in the Pearl District), you should probably go to Helser's instead (it's on Alberta). Hannah Bea's is more down-home. I would say "down to earth." The service was EXCELLENT, and the poundcake is the best! It was my first MLK dining experience, and definitely not my last. Pros: The Poundcake! And the coffee! Cons: maybe...presentation? (They used those lititle foil-topped toothpicks to hold sandwich together!) more

I can smell the food before it came to the table. I had the shrimp rice bowl and it looked, smell, tasted delicious. I can taste all the spices that Chef had combined this this tasty dish. The food was hot and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was excellent: I talked with my friend while waited for our meal to arrive. When it arrive it was hot, spicy, and wonderful. I could not keep my eyes off the dessert window. Look at all those cakes, pies, cookies and pudding! Which one should I pick? I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and experience of Hannah Bea's. I thoroughly recommend it to everyone I meet. Pros: Priced reasonably, Menu variety of food, Made to order entre Cons: Not open long enough more

It's gonna be a leisurely breakfast 2/17/2006

Service was slow as there was only one person working the dining room. I ordered the "famous country breakfast, two eggs up, beef patty, hash browns and a bisquit (which apparently came with gravy). Marianne had the salmon croquets. The food arrived 40 minutes after we got seated. The eggs were fine, but the potatoes were essentially burned on one side and nearly uncooked on the other. The beef patty seemed more like a kind of rubbery meatloaf with with clumps of grease in it. There was no gravy for the biscuit, nor was there any butter. We asked for butter and got a plastic cup of congealed melted butter. The croquet was servicable, but didn't include eggs, which Marianne had hoped for eggs. Her potatoes were similarly cooked. The TV set silently showing Sat a.m. cartoons was jarring. The coffee was, actually, Ok. We won't be back. Pros: the coffee's Ok Cons: The Cooking, The service, the atmosphere more

A Lazy Sunday Breakfast 2/3/2006

I love Hannah Bee's. The munue is small, but doesn't need to be bigger. The poundcake is fab. Some Sunday mornings you find live jazz music. Love to eat breakfast and play rummy, there are games in a basket. Self serve coffee, You always feel like you're at home, ecxept you can't cook this good. Cozy. Pros: great value, cozy, no-rush more

I think it's the best! 6/10/2005

I am always greeted warmly. The atmosphere is cozy, like bein in your gramas kitchen. There is usually jazz or old school playing softly that is so relaxing. I have had the breafast burrito there which was delicious and huge. The sandwiches are made to order . Who could ask for more. My favorite item there is the Peach cobbler. I order it for special gatherings at my office and my home. If you live here and have not tried it....shame on you. Put it at the tp of your "to do list". It is a must have. Pros: atmosphere, portions, taste more

I found Hannah Beas's to be affordable, convenient ,comfortable and absolutely delicious. The staff is courteous and doesnt me you feel rushed. The atmosphere is perfect for girlfriends meeting for a bite and a chat. I really enjoy the cobb salad. The serving is quite large . The dirty rice was tasty but my favorite items are the deserts. The pound cake with frosting makes it worth the trip. Pros: portions, location, taste more

Although I found this restaurant to have a great feeling when I went in, the food was less than desireable. I have come to the conclusion that people don't really know what home cooking is. I had a breakfast and the potatoes tasted like the freezer. more
