Giovana best stylist for weddings!!!!! 6/29/2006

I was married a couple of weeks ago and came in about a month before my wedding to have a practice up-do with my usual hairdresser. My hairdresser did a great job cutting my hair, but was having some difficulty putting my hair up exactly how I envisioned it for the wedding. After experimenting for a few hours (definately recommend going for a trial up do for your wedding!!) my hairdresser asked if Giovana would work on my hair. Giovana was amazing!! She pays such close attention to detail, she not only did my hair in the exact style I wanted, but it was even better than I had envisioned!! She did my hair quickly, flawlessly and it felt so secure! I was amazed at the detail of my own hair style! haha. It was gorgeous. I felt like a magazine bride. She was great to work with and I would undoubtedly give her a HIGH recommendation for wedding up-dos. She does amazing work! I think I may even switch to her for my haircuts! You want spectacular eyebrows? ask for Harriet 5/2/2006

Women, we all know that finding someone that can do your eyebrows without making you look like you had a run-in with a weed wacker is rather difficult. Then I found Harriet and I don't worry any more ... not only is she a fantastic makeup artist, she's knowledgeable, friendly and does amazing eyebrows ... AMAZING! Below my expectations 3/29/2006

First of all, the directions on their website were totally incorrect. Their website indicates they accept the usual credit cards. Well at the end of my husbands and I $500+ day, we go to the register to pay with the credit card and they tell us that they can't add tip to the credit card???? When you run a meal on a credit card, you can add tip? Their website didn't indicate that, we didn't bring cash b/c we planned on paying for everything w/ a credit card and in the end, no one got a tip. We were even able to pay the $19 for parking w/ a credit card! Other than that, the staff was polite, accommodating, knowledgeable and gentle - but I wouldn't go back. Amanda rocks!!! 1/30/2006

I am a guy who normally gets a $11 haircut. However, my girlfriend dragged me to Pierre & Carlo. I initially was kicking and screaming. However, I now will be the one running to the salon. Amanda was amazing. She recognized my hesitation and calmed my nerves. She made sure my hair was not "too trendy", but "classic." She is patient and understanding and there is ANY GUY LOOKING FOR A GREAT STYLIST, CHOOSE AMANDA!!!! Pros: KIND, GENEROUS, HOT!!!! more

Amanda did a wonderful job! After she was done, I got so many compliments on my hair!!! I would highly recommend her. She is sweet and easygoing. She listens to what you want. She is able to incorporate your ideas and have you walk out with a fashionable hair cut!! more

Relaxing and Comfortable 12/2/2005

I had my hair done at the salon for the first time on Nov. 30 by Amanda. She was so sweet and did a wonderful job with my hair, which is extremely thick. I had a great experience. The staff was pleasant and the salon was very clean. I went on a wednesday morning for my appt so it wasn't too crowded. I would highly recommend the salon. Amanda - thank you so much! I love my new cut and color. Its been 3 days and I'm still stopping at every mirror to check it out - it looks and feels great! I'll definitely be back. Cons: $19 parking more

Barbara the queen of color 10/16/2005

Im a fashion major so i have to always look my best but have a terribly busy life and the fact that I could go to Pierre and Carlo on a Sunday and have my cut and color done by a master stylist was wonderful. I have been to Barbara about 5 times now and i love drastic changes. No matter what hot trend she manipulated my hair to, she did it with class. My lastest color is a knew technique she learned where depending on how wear my hair...it shows off a different color... its amazing... Anyways i cant wait for Barbaras salon to get the equipment necessary for individual extentions. All in all Barbara does outstanding work no matter wat the style... I needed to find a new stylist because my previous stylist injured her fingers; I read the reviews regarding Angela on Citysearch - and they were right on the mark. She gave me a GREAT cut - no muss, no fuss - and I am really happy. The salon is upscale, but you don't feel out of place or unwelcome. It's a nice environment, relaxed but professional. Get your hair cut with Scott!! 4/7/2005

It was my first time to the salon last week. I've been to several different salons in center city and like to try new places out. I was extremely pleased with my stylist, Scott. I have thick, wavy, and sometimes unruly hair, and he cut it really well. I could tell that he knew his craft, and I felt that he really listened to my concerns regarding my hair. Additionally, he is a friendly person, without the arrogant attitude that I've come across so many times in the past. He made me feel at ease and he made my hair look great, which is the most important thing!! Also, his cuts are reasonably priced, which earned him several points in my book (don't you hate it when you pay tons for a cut, and you walk out feeling like you've been had?) What do you mean you don't know??? 2/22/2005

For an $85 Deep Tissue Massage, I wanted a knowledgable Therapist and mine just didn't cut it. I don't believe in a skilled service industry where you should be told, "I don't know." I asked her what the difference was btwn a Swedish and Shiatsu massage and she said she didn't know.Ummmm, hello-you're a Massage Therapist.While I was relieved by my actual massage (she must have remembered something), after it was over-I was asked for my credit card and shuffled on out. Would definitely try someone else next time and get a hair do out of the deal since the salon was bustling with folks. Im Reese I'm 21&I live in Rittenhouse Square. Barbara Lutz is the top master sylist and colorist in Philadelphia. She is by request only(thurs-sunday). Call the salon (215)790-9910 &tell them you must see Barbara Lutz eventhough theyll say shes booked. If you dont request Barb, you will probably be stuck with Angela, Kim, or Nadia; they say alot of BS but they lack talent, they overcharge, their styles are cliched &their work looks cheap. I've hurd rumors that Barb was a celebrity stylist before but gave it up 2 be with her children. Even if you don't want to go to her for the hair go so maybe she'll hook you up with her gorgeous older son Zachary Lutz, he's a 19yrold model. If you want hot color, trendy yet very classy styles, and pictures of a hot model to look at, go see Barb. She styles my whole family. Good First Impression 3/19/2004

Great experience 1/18/2004

The atmosphere was somewhat intimidating to me initally, but I found the staff to be very friendly, very much down to earth. There are literally rows of stylists, I would've never known who to pick. Cheryl did an amazing job on my color. She was very thorough. After experiencing a lasting improvement in my hair's condition as well, it has proven to be the best hair-do ever. I'll be back. more

Positively Worth Every Penny! 7/27/2003

This was the absolute best salon experience I've ever had! My stylist , Angela, was the BEST! I would HIGHLY reccomend her - she took my fried, over-processed blonde hair and turned it into pure silk & the most beautiful dark blonde haircolor I could've imagined. I was expecting rudeness and elitism (from the other reviews of this salon) but only encountered professionalism and kindness. The old adage is definitely true with this salon - "You get what you pay for!" (And it's positively worth every penny...) If you're looking for the best, look no further than Pierre and Carlo!
