Editorial review from Citysearch 1/6/2014

I was referred to Haddock Collision-Maynard in Cary, NC by the local Tire Store I regularly do business with...they had run into difficulty bringing my 2004 Mini Cooper into alignment and suspected there was body damage resulting from several recent run-ins with deep potholes on the highway.\r \r I made an appointment with Joe L. at Haddock for the next week, and upon arrival was promptly greeted and attended to. Joe put my car up on the lift and made a thorough inspection of the suspension. Turns out there were no obvious damaged body parts, and Joe discussed several possible mechanical items that might need to be replaced, items typically outside the realm of their work unless part of a major collision repair job. Since I am capable of fairly extensive mechanical work on my vehicles, these items are things I will address myself and then go back to the Tire Store for final alignment.\r \r I was extremely impressed with the openness and candor with which Joe L. discussed my alignment issues and possible solutions. It is great to have such a professional firm close by to deal with. When in the future I have the need for body work I'll be taking my car to Haddock as they have certainly proven worthy of my trust. more

Thanks, but no thanks 1/21/2012

Scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for repair. I had to take time off work to schedule an appointment that was convenient for *them*. Drive the 30 minutes from work in the middle of the day. When I arrived, the gentlemen asked me if I was going to have the car repaired there. I was truthful and said that at the request of the other party, this repair would not being through insurance, and I was actually getting 3 estimates, and his shop was the third one on the list, and that I'd pick the shop based on various factors. The gentlemen then refused to give me an written estimate. He goes into some song and dance about mystical ""hidden damage"" and how the bill could end up being much higher than the written quote, and for that reason they won't give me a written estimate unless I commit to having the car repaired there so they ""take it apart"" to give me an written estimate. What a total crock. We're weren't talking about a lot of damage here folks. The car was side-swiped in a parking lot and had a shallow dent on the door and fender and some scratches on the paint. Reading between the lines, it's very clear this shop operates on they notion that working with insurance companies allows them to maximize the amount they can charge for a repair. They clearly do not want private-party business. Given the minor damage to my car, his song and dance about the mythical hidden damages was completely laughable. This is the first time I have ever been refused an estimate at any auto shop, especially for the stupid reason he gave me. I was able to work with 3 other body shops in the area, and each of them gave me a written estimate, no questions asked. Each estimate had the standard ""this is an estimate only - other repair and fees may be required"" clause. That's completely common practice in the business, Apparently, Haddock must have thought I looked stupid and could be coerced into giving them my business. The net of my experience with Haddock was I had to take 90 minutes out of my work day, waste $10 in gas to drive there and back, simply to be told they would not even give me an estimate unless I committed then and there that they did the repairs. If that's how they operate, they should have said that on the phone when I made the appointment instead of making me come down there in person to tell me that. Thanks a ton Haddocks FOR COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY WASTING MY TIME!!!! You obviously feel your time is more important than your customers and that your customers are complete idiots. Sorry, but I don't do business with companies that think their customers should feel privileged just for walking in your door. Needless to say I will not be returning. more

Deer Hit Scared the Sh*t Out of Me 11/29/2010

After being blindsided by a deer, I took my car to Haddock as referred by by insurance company. Everything was extremely professional from my initial appointment set up to the completion of my fix. Joe was my point and he is THE MAN. The left side of my Camry was damaged to the tune of $3k and an expected week to 2 weeks right around Thanksgiving. Three days later my car was in perfect shape. more

My Mercedes looks perfect! 7/30/2010

These folks were recommended by my insurance company and the dealer. Very large store and everyone was totally professional. Spoke with Nate and Blake, they assured me all would be fine. Picked up a rental car from Enterprise in their building. Communication was good and it took a couple weeks to fix and it was within my expectations. All I wanted was a perfect quality repair for my car and they delivered. Bravo! Pros: Solid repair more

Good job on minor repair 4/23/2010

Used their other store last year, went back with minor $600 damage. Had to wait to schedule it in because they were busy, but the work was done in 2 days and the paint looks perfect. Nice! Pros: Great paint work Cons: Need appointment more

Worst I have ever seen! 2/2/2010

I decided now finally to write a review because I want to warn people who think they get good work from the largest repair center in the area. I had some minor paint work done on my 04 Pacifica (scratches on front and rear bumper and hood/grille repainting). After a 6 weeks wait I dropped of my car only to find out that the 10 days scheduled repair was not finished on the proposed pickup day. After an additional 6 days of waiting I got the car. After inspecting the work I discovered that not all screws were put back into place, the front bumper was not put on correctly, the left front light was not in place as it should be. Rivets were missing and some screws if they were not missing were loose. Freshly painted parts got scratched while being attached (these are just the main points). So I went back and told them I would not accept this work and they agreed to fix all my addressed issues. After another week I pick up the car and initially was happy with the work until I found out that they broke the parking sensors / system in the back bumper during repainting. Some of the other issues I complained about were fixed but I am by far not happy with the work and service of this body shop. \r You decide but I think there are other companies around which do a better job than Haddock Collision Center. \r \r Juergen Holzner \r Pros: Beware! Cons: Beware! more

Time Heals all Wounds (well....most) 10/15/2009

I wrote the review below, regarding the 2007 Honda Odyssey. I guess my wife and I are ""Jinxed"" when it comes to buying new cars! I bought a new Toyota Venza a few weeks ago and on the very first day of driving it... I hit a dog that ran out on the highway!!! These cars are just not built like '65 Chevy's anymore! A 35lb dog (now deceased), caused almost $3,000 damage. For some reason beyond my comprehension, I took the car to the very same Haddock's that did so poorly with our Honda van. Maybe due to the fact that they repair so many vehicles? I dealt with Joe Leeworthy who was very polite and professional. I read Joe the Riot Act, informing him of the circumstances regarding our previous experience and let him know that I expected perfection this time! Joe took it all in stride and I got my car back promptly....and perfectly! Joe...and Haddock's Collision Center Staff..... Thank You for restoring my confidence, and for doing such a great job! Pros: Did a Great Job this Time Cons: Previous Experience more

Don't make the Same Mistake I Did 6/7/2009

If you ever have an accident, do not immediately follow the recommendations of your dealership, or believe that the higher-priced shop is going to result in better-quality work! Pros: Location Cons: Very Poor Quality....Customer Service even Worse! more

Nothing Professional Here 5/17/2009

You get what you pay for? ...not in this case. We didn't have our new Honda Odyssey Mini-Van for two weeks when some lady pulled out in front of my wife and caused about $7500 damage to the front-end. The Service Manager at Leith Honda recommended the new Haddock Collision Center on N.W. Maynard Rd., in Cary. To make this a short-story.... we had to return the Van three times for defective work and then vast amounts of over-spray! They even trashed our interior carpet mats! The body work was done almost a year ago, but I decided to write this review because every time i wash our Honda, I can feel all the over-spray that is still on the roof. All of this, even after getting the owner of the company involved. Recommend them.... I don't think so! Pros: None Really Cons: Very Poor Workmanship, Customer Service and Over-Priced more
