Beware the $16 lentil soup which arrives as small as a tea cup but comes with a hefty dose of management ego and a sour blast of apathy when politely asked to fix the situation... Campbell's could do better and that's the honest truth (at a fraction of the "16 oz" price!) You have been warned! Ciao. more

greatly surprised 4/1/2011

Not living in the city, I heard about this place for the first time. I went with my boyfriend and was delighted to have a wonderful meal. The waiters are exceptionally nice and polite. Very helpful to someone that hasn't been in an organic restaurant before. However, I have found that despite the wonderful food and great staff, the chairs and tables were beat up. But, that wont hold me back to come again. Thank you guys your great, :) more

Buenos Aires in NYC! 2/5/2011

GustOrganics is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. It is the perfect place to get together with good friends and catch up on everything. I am a vegetarian, I love to eat organic and gluten-free...some of my friends enjoy eating good beef...this is the place where everyone can be happy! Their signature soup is fabulous...I crave it...their pizzas are great...I love their hemp empenadas...their baby arugula salad is so good...their service is fabulous...they let you stay as long as you want...no rushing...it is like being in a lovely restaurant in Buenos Aires! I love GustOrganics! more

when are you opening in LA? 12/9/2010

Went with my boyfriend, for whom food is never enough. Place is lovely, very clean and very well located. I was a little afraid about food, since ""healthy"" places are usually more about the health rather than the ingredients. When food arrived, big surprise... Delicious and abundant... even for my bf. Service was up to par with food, and price was very reasonable. Wish they could open some branches in LA. more

as good as home 12/9/2010

Been there last week. Food is amazing and portions are big. The set up is very cool, yet unpretentious, and service was friendly and respectful. Will be there every time I come to NY. more

worse service ever, I never saw a place like this. 10/17/2010

rating?? whats for?\r I have a gift certificate from gustorganics and last saturday i called to order a delivery, even knowing that every time we order something from the its a mess. first of all you must to be paciente to talk to the employees on the phone or they just hang out. second of all when you palce your order and think everything is going to be ok this time, they say they are out of an item, well things happens and then when I try to make a payment using my brothers gift certificate, they just dont know how to use it. whats the deal to put a serveci and not to be able to provide the service? My brother called and teach step by step which went thru but some ""manager"" said that the card is no good no more, that manager for sure never read the back of the card but again what we expect havingthose kind of restaurant open? thats why now I believe that all reviews should be considereted especially at gustorgarnics. PLEAS READ CAREFULLY.\r ONE STAR JUST BECAUSE IS REQUIRED.\r i TOLD ALL MY FRIENDS NOT TO ORDER FROMTHERE ANYMORE AND I MY ODER FRIEND WHO USED TO PLACE A LARGER ORDER AT ONCE A WEEK STOPED AS WELL more

Terrible 6/9/2010

I called to order delivery and had to fight with the guy on the phone to establish the fact that jane street is in fact between houston and 23rd street and therefor within their delivery area. The deliver man finally agreed to take my order, 2 soups, and it has now been an hour and 45 minutes and still no food. When the food finally arrived, one of the soups was the wrong kind. Terrible service, mediocre food. Definitely not worth it. more

lunch was great! 1/12/2010

i loved the chicken stew...and the staff was very nice and informative...the place is clean and nice..and the menu has a lot to choose from..salads, pizzas, sandwiches....and they deliver anywhere! really excited to have found this place. Pros: great organic food more

Awful tourist trap 10/26/2009

This is an awful tourist trap disguised as an organic-food restaurant. Clueless service, incompetently executed food, and a truly hideous room. You can do better in this neighborhood. Pros: Location? Cons: Dimwitted service, ugly room more

Food only OK. Very pricey for what you get. Lazy staff 7/31/2009

I try to eat organic when possible and have been here/ordered from here about 7 times. I finally gave up out of sheer frustration with the staff. (Food is just okay. Never ""good"". Its pricy but its organic so I get it.) The following description fits my experience with the staff EVERY TIME I go there. The staff stands around trying to look cool, and when NO ONE else is there and I am waiting to place an order, they talk to each other and don't even bother to look in my direction. Eventually, a nice man (usually central or south american) will come over and take my order. And while these men who seem to do all the work are very nice, they do not speak the best english. So, its hard to place a simple order and there is usually some mistake, something missing, etc. Meanwhile, the young, able-bodied, bed-headed hipster staff who are speaking clear american english while standing behind the counter talking about how they are going to open a tea cafe in south america, still have not lifted a finger to do ANYTHING. NOTHING. Same thing with phone orders. The people who answer the phone usually speak limited english and have made several mistakes with my phone orders. For the very bland quality of the food and high prices, make sure all of your staff is willing to WORK. It is beyond annoying and you pay a lot to get aggravated, which probably cancels out any benefit of the organic food. Pros: Organix Cons: Staff is #1 negative more

Awesome food and people.... 2/18/2009

Finally there's a place in the village that I don't have to think about the quality of food that I order. Everything on the menu is organic and everything that I have had has been very tasty. At lunch the steak Piadina is amazing, you will crave it. It is great to know that whatever you order will not be compromised by chemicals, pesticides or genetically modifications but most importantly the people involved in bring you your food have a deeper connection to you and the quality of your food. They care to do it the right way and the food tastes amazing. One of my favorites places along with 50 Commerce, Market Table, Pearl, Daddy O's..... Pros: Quality food, chill people and vibe, live jazz and DJ Cons: Can't make any up more

One of the WORST meals of my life 1/1/2009

I wish I'd had a camera phone to take a photo of the ""special"" vegetable brochette they charged me $20 for tonight. It amounted to a skewer of 6 unseasoned pieces of barely grilled veggies and slathering of gummy mashed potatoes on the side that had started to congeal due to sitting under heat lamp WAY too long.\r \r And it took us well over an hour to get our food from a totally unattentive waiter (our water glasses remained empty for 45 mins)\r \r I don't who's been writing the reviews on here (possibly the owners) but this was absolutely one of the worst meals I've ever eaten in NYC - and that's saying a lot.\r \r These people must think their customers are idiots to serve that kind of food for those prices. WOW. Pros: Nice decor Cons: Terrible food and TERRIBLY HIGH prices more

Gustorganics - my new favorite place! 11/3/2008

Gustogranics is absolutely delicious. I have to admit - I'm not so huge into organics or green living or any of that stuff. Not that I dont respect it or do it when I can, but its not really a lifestyle choice Ive made or follow. BUT when the opportunity presents itself i will normally take it. So i learned about this place from an organic-minded friend and tried it out last night. Food was delicious - I found it a very fun menu, with create your own pasta, some really good appetizers like the melted cheese, the empanadas etc. I had the filet mignon and it came out perfectly cooked, well seasoned and absolutely scrumptious. My friend had a pizza which was also divine - definitely not the traditional new york slice and unique even from other thin crust ""european"" style pizzas. The all organic drinks - were tasty and inventive and they had a good wine list considering its all organic! they even had beer! not only is it all organic (which i no longer believe means bowls full of tasteless oats), but it has everything, it's delicious and even though you would think the 100% organic thing would make it $$$$$$ its really not reflected in the price. It's new york and its a perfect filet mignon (the most expensive thing on the menu) for under $30 that's a pretty good deal without the organic thrown in if you ask me. So i'd definitely say check it out try something new and you will NOT be disappointed! Pros: ORGANIC, food, flavor, nice waiter, full bar, location Cons: nada more

Organic? Yes. Flavorful? No. Good value? No. 10/6/2008

Had high hopes for Gusto but all 3 of us were somewhat disappointed (in the food; service was great). One of us had the steak salad; she said the meat was good but had no seasonings...boring. One of us had the vegetable pizza; also somewhat flavorless and the crust was quite similar to a matzo or a cracker. Not really a ""pizza."" I had the lentil stew; I figured a stew would have more than just lentils in it, but it was just a big bowl of lentils in a tomato-based sauce. It tasted good but after the 20th spoonful of lentils, it got a little tedious. It's a stew! How about throwing in a few carrots or something?! However, the empanadas were delicious, and pretty cheap. Overall I'd say it's way too much money for what you get. Won't be going back. Buh-bye, Gusto. Pros: Organic, fresh. Cons: Expensive, flavorless. more

Finally ALL Organic!!! 7/12/2008

highly recommended!!\r \r just went there for lunch with my husband the other day and the food was phenomenal..it's so great to have a 100% organic restaurant where all the items on the menu are organic and you don't have to pick and choose..the blended drinks are a must have...i had one called the suave and it was delicious plus the woman who prepared it gave us the extra leftover in another glass for my husband which he loved.\r \r we are definitely going back to check out dinner next time! more

Amazing Food!! 7/11/2008

Excellent unprocessed food- a true discovery! Everything is made fresh that day- how can you go wrong w/good fresh ingredients? I recommend tasting the food and deciding for yourself!! There are a lot of great choices (the options change daily)! I'll give five stars to this place, and of course, I'll keep going there. Pros: Amazing ambience, great healthy food Cons: haven't found any yet. more
