We live in a world dominated by the internet! At a click of the finger, you can find out virtual anything about someone or a company - sometimes good, sometimes bad!\r \r I read reviews about the Clear Lake office of Gulf Coast Driving Scool. It was mixed with good and bad reviews.\r I held these reviews accountable to owner, Carolyn Campbell, before I enrolled by daughter.\r \r I can firmly state that I was surprised at the level of empathy is received as a customer. \r \r Thank all of you for writing about what happened as a customer. It gave me a better insight about the company.\r \r And I would like to go on record to say, ""feel assured this is a great school for your child"". more

I noticed that Gulf Coast Driving School - Clear Lake had some not so favorable reviews on Citysearch. \r \r I decided to take the time to say this school has a very professional staff. Not sure if this is the same staff two years ago, when the bad reviews were written.\r \r I had the opportunity to speak with the owner Carolyn Campbell. She is a lovely lady. And she listens and is ""all over"" her driving schools' staff.\r \r I would recommended trying this driving schoo! It is worth your time.\r \r more

I read several reviews before checking out Gulf Coast Driving School. Based the previous reviews, I was hestitate to call. I mentioned about the reviews and asked if they were valid. I had the opportunity to talk to the owner, Carolyn Campbell, and she gave me background about under staffing. She explained that changes were made the process for the Driving School was improved. I took a chance and YES this school provided great service! I said I would comment about this to let others know. They deserve a call! more

Scheduling driving times for my child is impossible. We wait every week for hours only to be told that they are booked and end up on a waiting list. It's been months and my child is still not done with the required in car driving times. We have complained and complained and there is nothing we can do. My kid still needs 5 classes and again we were not able to get a time this week. more

This school will provide the class instruction. But when it comes to providing the driving instruction, they will not do it in a timely fashion. They enroll so many students that it takes several months to complete the driving instruction. This is not an effective way to teach a teen to drive. Also, the only way to schedule driving instruction is to appear in person in the middle of a weekday, when most people need to work. They don't tell you that when you sign their contract.\r \r I found the help to be rude, disinterested, and uncaring. The Texas Department of Education will not respond to complaints because they claim that the school is adhering to all the required rules and regulations. Cons: They take your money without providing the service more

I read all of the horrible reviews but this was the closest school so decided I would give it a try anyway. I thought maybe my luck would be different!!! I phoned to make sure someone would be in so I would not make an unnecessary trip to sign my Daughter up for Drivers Ed. When I arrived 20 minutes later, they were closed. I called back and the very unprofessional owner said that it was the same number to both her Pasadena and Clearlake location. They had closed the Clearlake location early even though that was number I called. She very sarcastically apologized for giving me the worng information. I am busy moving but I am just going to order the $20 packet like I did with my Son and teach her myself. Will take the savings and buy some school clothes instead!!! Cons: It cost $350 more than teaching your child yourself. more

My daugher attended this school and came home crying because the driver on the weekends screamed at her throughout the lesson. He cursed and shouted at her when she made a mistake. Now this was only her SECOND time on a car, so obviously she is bound to make some mistakes. NOT ONLY THAT, but the lady who owns it is extremely unprofessional and rude as well (I'll have to agree with the previous poster). Do NOT waste your money on this school. more

Horrible service....the owner cant manage to actually do her job in a timely efficient manner. she is rude and unprofessional and cant manage to keep decent work hours or ethics. I highly recommend you take your child to ANY other facility, because this one is not worth it in any way shape or form. I personally will make sure anyone and everyone I know is aware of this issue with this woman. She cant return phone calls, she will schedule a class, take your money, then postpone the class and cant be bothered to schedule make up classes if you have to miss one for any reason. She drags it out for months due to her lack of integrity and/or professionalism. Please DO NOT let y our child attend this school! Pros: allows child to get drivers license Cons: lazy unprofessional owner/instructor, tries to steal your tuition due to lack of service, cant manage to efficiently schedule class or drive time more
