PIZZA TASTES LIKE CARDBOARD with a 2/1/2012

PIZZA TASTES LIKE CARDBOARD with a layer of grease on top. The sauce has no flavor, the cheese tastes artificial, and the toppings were NOT fresh. Even the soda was flat! Not sure how this place is still in business. more

best pizza out in co 10/16/2011

guidos pizza is the best pizza i have ever had. i have only been going there for a few years, but i wish i found it 20 years ago. the people that go there are friendly, and if you are the same to the people that work there, they are also. i have seen them be kind of rude to people, but the people were rude to them first. its not new york style pizza with out a little attitude anyways... haha go check them out. it will literally change your life. more

No Service and rude!!! 7/30/2011

Went to Guido's in Genesee on a Friday night in July 2011. There was no one seated at any of the tables. When we went in and ordered we were told by the waitress that it would be a minimum of a one hour wait as they were busy filling orders to go, no apology, just short and to the point, and somewhat rude. So, we left and will never return there again. We have been to Guido's in Genesee on many occasions and have always liked their pizza but have always found the service to be terrible. There are always young, inexperienced kids working there who do not understand customer service. We did go to the Guido's in Lakewood and the pizza is just as good, The service is both friendly and excellent at the Guido's in Lakewood. more

If you like diarrhea, by all means, enjoy their pizza... 7/4/2011

Ordered two pies last Thursday, and the whole family got diarrhea!!!!! They only take cash, and conveniently have a credit card swipe machine to put cash in their drawer, and they gladly give you change, not to mention the fee for that machine, plus the fee your bank charges. AVOID!!!!! more

Hidden gem of a local pizza place 9/14/2009

Lots of old, out-of-date reviews below. I started eating at Guidos over year ago, and the place is great. Yes, it's a bit of a hole in the wall, but the food is really, really good. Great hand-tossed thin-crust pies. Great flavor. Great sauce. Tasty cheese. Also good hot sandwiches and even gyros, too. \r \r This place is worth going out of your way for. Pros: Excellent pizzas Cons: No delivery. more

Best NY Style Pizza in Colorado! 10/24/2008

I have been eating Guidos Pizza for 21 years. It is the best pizza I have ever had. I no longer live in the area but whenever I pass by, when I am going skiing or biking in the mountains, I have to stop. The joint is very localized and has a very fun atmosphere. Service is good -if you are in a hurry I suggest you call in advance. I highly recommend any of the menu items in addition to the pizza: calzones, salads, grinders, gyros -there really is something for everyone and it is all so tasty! Prices are reasonable, but the phenomenal food makes the prices more than worth it. If you have had a bad experience I suggest giving it another try and definately stop in when the owner Rick is there. Aside from the great conversation, and unbelievable stories he has from his other Guidos restaurant in Costa Rica, Rick makes the best pizza. Don't judge too quickly from other reviews; if you are driving to or from the mountains on I70 put this on your to do list!!! Pros: Great food, Great conversation, Fun atmosphere Cons: good help is hard to find more

Do not eat at Guido's Pizza in Golden, CO 9/27/2008

Do not stop to get a bite to eat at Guido's Pizza in Golden Colorado. The sign says ""open"" but the service says ""go away"". Lot's of flies, disheveled employees, no wait service, no card payments accepted, home-made ATM machine (is that even legal?), and questionable hygiene on both employees and space. Pros: Nothing positive about it. Cons: It is a disservice to the community. more

Average pizza, real bad service, price a little high (even for Genesee)\r \r For a GREAT pizza, try Beau Jo's the closest is in Evergreen Co. Pros: Convinient location Cons: All of the above!!! more

Service so bad it could be the textbook example of how not to do it! 2/19/2008

We've gone here since they opened -- they were the only local option for years. The food is fine, prices a little high, but service has gone down the tubes since the owner moved to Costa Rica. A manager who actually gave a s*** could make this a great place! Pros: food's not bad Cons: service, service, service, service, oh and price especially given the SERVICE! more

great pizza/calzones and specials at a fair price 12/4/2007

Guido's Pizza has been in the Genesee Town Center for over 20 years and I've been eating there for the entire time. The restaurant wouldn't have survived so long if the food wasn't good. Food is very good, the pizza ranks with the best in Denver, and prices are reasonable. In response to the comments above...yeah sometimes the service isn't 5 star..but neither are the prices. It's a fun, hip atmosphere , so be prepared to relax , people watch and have a good meal at a fair price. Pros: great food at a good price Cons: sometimes very busy more

OK pizza (Golden store), rude service 8/24/2007

I've eaten the pizza at the Guido's in Lakewood many times and it's decent - comparable to Anthony's, Famous Pizza, etc. - still a pretty long shot from actual NY style pizza. The crust can be chewier than I like and the sauce can be inconsistent and very sweet. But for the most part, it's OK. I thought I'd try the Guido's in Golden as we were hosting a nearby party of about 33 people. I called the restaurant and first asked if they had a website (pretty valid question as most pizza joints these days do). I was told that they did not and there's been a bunch of bad stuff on the internet about them and this person continued to ramble on about unfavorable web reviews written by customers. What does this have to do with having or not having a website?! I went ahead and started to set up a large order for pick-up on a Sunday and was told that would be OK but then he changed his mind. They were looking at a busy Saturday and there was a chance his employees would be late coming to work on Sunday and he couldn't guarantee my order! As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years, I do knit-pick about fine details but I have no patience for outright bad service. This is just pizza for god's sake, not a complex dining establishment. I do not plan to visit the Golden Guido's anytime soon unless there's a change in ownership, management, and customer service. Do yourself a favor and visit one of the many NY pizzerias in the metro area where the employees at least pretend to value customers. Cons: Rude customer service more

Great Pizza 8/18/2007

The pizza here is some of the best in town. I have 14yrs experience in the restaurant industry so let me add to add to the bad service comments let me just say that it's a pizza joint. Just like any other one I have been to like Anthony's ect...the service is lacking a little mainly because the employees are mostly high school kids. The owner made Pizza in NJ most of his life and its just about as close as you can get to NY style. I will also add that Anthony's rolls their dough and Guido's throws it by hand. Believe me it makes a difference. They do not take credit cards because why should a business owner pay a credit card company to use their product. They should offer that service so that people will use their credit cards. The ATM is not ""home made"" just not one you see very often because like I said it is more cost effective for the business. It's more expensive because it's three times the size of Pizza Hut or any corporate chain. They use fresh everything and don't use shitty cheese. I just want to let people know that some of these messages were written by a disgruntled employee who was fired for not doing his job and stealing. Deal with the service because your not in a fine dining restaurant and there is no servers because it has all of 8 tables and the counter is 5 steps away. It's called counter service like any other fast food joint. I have been going there for years and I love it. Pros: Great food, Rick the owner is very cool and does a lot for the community up there. Cons: This is a pizza joint just remember that more

Good pizza but... 9/18/2002

The pizza here is some of the best I've tried, with a thick, home-made crust and lots of toppings, but the service is terrible. The kids working there could care less about your business and answer the phone like you are bothering them. The eating area is small, so you probably want to get your food to go. Pros: Yummy pizza, Convenient location, Inexpensive Cons: Terrible service more
