Grooming By Lisa

I have taken my dogs to Lisa's for as long as there has been a Lisa's. My dogs love to go for boarding. Unlike most places where the dogs can't wait to go home; when I pick my dogs up at Lisa's I think they would just-as-soon stay. My dogs have always been groomed by Lisa and I would not take them anyplace else. She is fastidious about dogs being up-to-date on their shot records and her shop is very clean. My 2 Shih Tzu 's have been groomed by Lisa since each turned 6 months old. We make a standing appointment because the shop gets booked well in advance. Lisa always comes out to greet the dogs and they give her a lick of confidence. The shop is clean, friendly to both cats and dogs. I always get a review of how my dogs behaved and if there were any complications I need to know about. All the folks I've recommended to Grooming by Lisa have been pleased with the results. more

I was a customer of Grooming by Lisa until about 1 year ago when I had to put my longtime pet down due to liver failure. I have chosen not to get another pet but if I did I would take it to Grooming by Lisa. As a former groomer myself I have never seen anything at Lisa's shop that would suggest she grooms in such a way that she or her other groomers would cut a dog. Unfortunately it is possible for that to happen if you have an unruly dog or a puppy less that 6 months old that has never been groomed. Pros: Very knowlegeable groomer/owner. Cleanest shop I have ever seen. Good personal interaction with customers. more

I had my puppy in for his very first haircut and was very unhappy with the results!! This was my dogs first visit and i didn;t get a call that he was ready until closing time!! My dog was there several, several hours!! Not only that but i was shocked to see a large cut on the skin!! It required two stitches! When I called the buisness I spoke to an older man who tried to convince me that it did not happen at her buisness!! I was very upset and now my puppy is traumatized! Buisness owners need to fess up when they make a mistake and make it right!! I will never recomend this buisness! Cons: poor skills more

My experience and my pets experience can only be expressed as being positive. When I moved here from another state, my neighbors recommended a vet and groomer to care for my old girl. I took my old girl to the vet and he and his assistants recommended and (confirmed my neighbors recommendation) that the best place in Houston was Grooming By Lisa. Lisa took care of my old girl as if she were her own, even through those last months when incontinence and other disabilities set in. My old girl has since passed on, but my new pets are as eager to see Lisa as I am. They are always well groomed and smell and look 100% better than when I take them in. Her staff has always been helpful and my pets love them too. Thanks again to my vet and neighbors for their recommendation. I don't usually write reviews however since I was getting Lisa's phone number I saw a negative review for Grooming by Lisa and had to respond. I have been taking my dogs to Lisa for over 4 years and have nothing but wonderful things to say about her and her shop. She has a deep love for animals and they can tell - my dogs love going to the shop and all I have to say is ""Ya wanna go see Lisa"" and they get very excited. She does a wonderful job grooming, her prices are the best in town and her shop is always clean and neat! I have never had an issue with my dogs getting fleas or Lisa and her staff being rude. My dogs have boarded for several days and have never come home with fleas. Lisa has a way with the animals - hard to explain but they respond to her. I can't say enough wonderful things about her and would not trust my ""babies"" with anyone else! If you are looking for a groomer who loves what she does, loves the animals, a shop that is clean and neat and for great prices - then I would check out Grooming by Lisa!!! Be sure to call - she only takes appointments and gets booked up pretty quick! Pros: Prices are the best in town, shop is clean and staff is pleasant Cons: Lisa gets booked pretty fast so you have to make an appt in advance. more

I would like to respond to the negative review about Grooming by Lisa pet salon placed by danib6873 in oct. of 2007. I have been a customer of the shop for 11 years and have never had a problem with fleas when I take my pets in for their bi-weekly bathes and grooms. In fact this is one grooming shop that is extremely well maintained and doesn't have the typical floor covered in dog hair all day long. I would like to know how a dog becomes "" covered in fleas"" while in the shop for only a few hours. The shop would have to be covered wall to wall in fleas to accomplish what this dog owner suggests. In addition, I have heard and seen Lisa deal with some very difficult customers and I have never seen or heard anything rude from her. She just doesn't take any exagerated nonsense from customers.I suspect this is an owner with some issues or an axe to grind. I would recommend Lisa and her staff without question to any new customer. If you want the real scoop just go to her shop any morning between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and ask any customer taking their dog in for a groom or bath how they would rate her facility. Pros: easy parking and assistance getting pets in and out Cons: Very busy and not always easy to get in on short notice. Guess tha't the price of success. more

I would suggest taking your pup elsewhere. I took my little girl in one morning, flea free...and when I got home that evening after picking her up, she was covered in fleas. I called the next day and was told that they did not notice fleas on her and that it is not their problem. I was shocked with how rude they were and that I had to spend hours de-fleaing my pup and my house because of this place... Cons: FLEAS and attitude more
