My husband and I decided to go to the new Sparx Restaurant in Menomonie, Wi. We ordered the BBQ Sampler for the Appetizer and the Blackened Chicken and New York Strip for our Entrees. Our Appetizer consisted of four extremely small Ribs which were dry and consisted of little meat. This to the sound of 8.99! The Blackened Chicken Breast was a small chicken breast cut in half to make it look bigger. The meat was dry and the best thing on the plate was the over-sized potato, I would suppose this was because of the lack of chicken on the plate. This to the tune of 11.99! It was the most expensive potato I had ever bought! The New York Strip was ordered to be Medium-Well Done with two sides... steamed asparagus and cilantro rice. The steak was well-done, the rice tasted worse than minute made rice with no salt added, and the asparagus was the most interesting thing on the plate. Of course the extra side was 1.75 as only one side was to come with the steak. This to the tune of 24.99 without the added asparagus side!! When this was mentioned to the waitress she took the "appetizer" off of the bill but reprimanded us for complaining about the rest of the meal. All in all I payed 46.00 for a watered down drink, one pop for my husband, asparagus, and an over-sized potato! If you are looking for a good place to eat go to Culvers as Sparx is more than just a disappointment.
