Great Bear Auto Center

Very friendly, professional and honest. I was quoted a few different prices from several auto repair shops and not only was Great Bear Auto Center the lowest quote, the turn around time was very quick! \r \r I have been there about 3 times now, they never tried to up sale me on any repairs. My budget is tight and they have been very honest and understanding about "need only" repairs, unlike other shops that factor in "must do" repairs. When you find a business that has been around for decades, they must be doing something right.....right? Support honesty and good service in HB!!!!!! more

A friend recommended this place to me. My first impression of them was on the phone, the guy was friendly and laid back. From there I brought my Audi to them to check out my brakes. They were extremely friendly, timely and honest in their assessment. Great Bear Auto also charges less for oil changes than other places I've been (the standard chain places). I will definitely take my car back there for all repairs and maintenance and highly recommend Great Bear Auto. more

The owner (older un-gentelman on the bottle) has to be the most dishonest unscrupilous LYING sob i've ever met. after we negotiated a final amount and a tenative delivery of 2 to 4 days the bullstuff began.I must of called a dozen times always a runaround with a promise of a call back within the hour or the next day both of which never happend.So after a month of this it finally looks like its going to be over. NOT Thats when things got crazy now its 500.00 more, the 12 month warranty that was, is not and to top it all off he sat there and lied and twisted the facts. And heven forbid I had the nerve to call him a shister he came out of his seat and acted like he was going to hit me. Lucky for me and him he didn't ,maybe I just caught him on a bad month. So hed warning don't do business with more

We have taken all of our cars to Mike for many years. He is always forthright and honest. He has gone out of his way to solve problems with parts, etc. and I never worry about being overcharged. Let's face it, labor is NOT cheap and parts are outrageous, but Mike is fair. He'll give you an honest "heads up" on potential stuff you might be needing, but he NEVER pushes work that doesn't need to be done. They do great work and I have not had a problem with them taking care of any followup or concerns I might have. Mike can come off a bit curmudgeon-like, but he's got a heart of gold. Take time to get to know him and his fascinating life story. I wholeheartedly recommend Mike and Great Bear Auto and recommend them to friends and family all the time without any complaints. We've been using the staff of Great Bear for years even when they were at their previous location. Always found them to be honest and reliable. Never have to worry that they'll recommend work that doesn't need to be done. more

I didn't even get a chance to have work done here because they were so rude on the phone. I was treated like I didn't know anything and attacked because I was shopping around. Not recommended. more

This Gentleman..cough cough... is the rudest mechanic in Huntington Beach. I went out to get some basic work done and all I recieved from him was a negative demeanor. He was more entertained to fix the Land Rover that had showed up after I, than to answer a basic question of availability to make an Oil Change. I went down the street to another Mechanic and was advised by him that he is extremely difficult to deal with along return warranty issues. And, considering his impolite and and uncivilized deportment, you will probably have a hellish surprise waiting for you. Good Luck. more

I have an old car so when I need fixing I need to make sure whoever fixes it will make it last for a good while. This place has the most trustworthy mechanics around. They give me fair quote and great prices. The staff is friendly and they take time to explain what's going on. A nice experience. more

Best of the all the service is outstanding and the care and treatment they provide for your car will amaze you. This is the perfect place to come if you don't mind the relaxed atmosphere of a mom and pop auto shop. My parents have been taking thier cars here for years and the service here is superb. The staff is always friendly and they take time to explain exactly what is going on with your vehicle and what is most important to work on. They don't scam and they give you the old parts so you know that the new ones were replaced. If they have time they'll open up the car and let you know what they've done. Very affordable and once you get to know them you'll never go anywhere else. more
