Located on King St. in Downtown Charleston. Local Landmark—has been around forever. Everyone knows what Grannie’s Goodies is. Large selection of retro clothing and accessories. Amazing t-shirt collection that stretches at least the last 30+ years. Can find the occasional 1930’s-50’s era clothing but at a premium price. Clothing is mostly used (there are some new things), and in good condition---not “goodwill” condition. Slightly overpriced, but just consider the condition of the clothing. Staff is friendly and approachable. Keep an eye out for the guy that only wears Farrah Fawcett t-shirts. He’s like a local legend. more

Very nice retro clothing/accessory selection 10/8/2005

This store has been in Charleston for as many years as I can remember, and they have always featured retro clothing and accessories, as well as other items that are not retro, but seem to look like they are. People of my generation get a kick out of walking in here and at the same time, walking back in time. It's always a fun place to browse and you may even find yourself buying something here that reminds you of your wonton years of youthfulness. This is also a great place to shop for interesting Halloween costumes. Fun place with ecclectic atmosphere. more

I remember when retro was cool the 2nd time around 10/1/2005

Oh, how you can be reminded of your impending age (and unfettered uncoolness) when you walk into a store like Granny's Goodies (that is, if you're over 25). I don't understand how something from 1975 can be 'retro'--wasn't 1975 just like....a few years ago? At any rate, Granny's Goodies has great stuff for the retro-loving kid who thinks (snicker) that the Brady Bunch wore COOL CLOTHES (heh), or great for you to walk down memory lane and realize just how old and out of touch you are. I find this to be a great source for halloween costumes. They have just about everything from pre-1990. Even really old things---I saw a dress I swear my mother wore to her prom in 1955....go figure! more
