Before deciding to use this kennel my husband and/or I had dropped by three times unannounced to check the place out. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we were taken back to the kennel area to look around, and I felt comfortable leaving our cats there over the Labor Day Weekend. \r

The visit went sour right from the start. When we arrived on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. the kennels were not even set up yet and we had to leave the cats in their carriers. We also left food and feeding instructions. Which, by the way, the kennel charges extra if you leave your own food. It was at this point, rather than when we made the reservation, that we were told that the kennel closes at noon on holidays. \r

When we arrived to pick the cats up on Labor Day morning at 11:00 a.m. we were charged for three full days. Even though the cats were only in the kennel's care for 48 and 1/2 hours, and we could not have left them for the full day even if we had wanted to because the kennel closes early on holidays, we were still charged for three full days. I was very unhappy about this so I asked to speak to a supervisor. We waited for a half any hour while the staff was unable to reach anyone in authority. This is very disturbing. What if this had been an actual emergency and not just an irate customer?\r

At this point the situation had pretty much deteriorated and there was no more friendly, helpful staff, and I certainly wasn't allowed back in the kennel area. So, feeling like I was paying a ransom, I wrote a check for the three days and we took the cats and their extra food home. As soon as we got home all four cats headed straight for their water bowls. This is very unusual for cats, they usually don't drink a lot. And as I was putting away the extra food I noticed thestaff had only used three cans, when they should have used at least four. I called the kennel back and the staff had an excuse but the bottom line is they did not follow my instructions and I suspect that the cats were not fed or watered on Monday morning. I asked to have the owner call me and was told that the owner would call me back Tuesday.\r
\r
Well, guess what? As I write this review the following Saturday evening, I still haven't gotten a call from the owner or anybody else. \r

In short, to me, the staff seemed unprepared, inadequately supervised, and unable to follow simple feeding instructions. I feel that the pricing policy is unfair and inflexible. And, assuming that the owner even got my message, the owner appears to be totally indifferent to my concerns. I recommend that you leave your pets anywhere else before leaving them at Grandma's House for Pets. \r
