Very Biased & Unprofessional Employer 4/18/2012

This agency can work for you but will work more for you if you are Hispanic. The organization appears to be ethically sound & makes you sign many forms regarding discrimination & harassment issues in the workplace- wonder why? The current director (2012) is Rudy Herrera, short for Rudolph, but he should seriously consider going by ""Adolph"" because that would suit him better. I worked for this organization for only a few weeks & was never paid so I complained (was supposed to be paid on a weekly basis). Adolph was upset that I wrote a couple of legal letters to him to try to collect my pay. Although I was not terminated by the agency my assignment was at, I was terminated by Adolph because I complained about not getting paid, having bills to pay, etc... Goodwill gave many excuses, including losing my paperwork & the bank that issued their debit debit cards was going bankrupt, etc.... After losing my assignment they took another 2 weeks to pay me but this took me several letters and then they paid me less than they actually should have. They also paid me in ways I did not agree- 1 week by debit card, another by check and another by direct deposit, when I had only had agreed to direct deposit. Overall this organization has very little standards, ethics and morals when it comes to treating employees properly & just. I will never work for them again & the inconveniences they intentionally caused me are totally uncalled for, as well as unprofessional. If you interview w/them I suggest that you ask them details about what happens if you do not get paid on time & also what happens if your assignment is terminated- DIGITALLY RECORD this info. & you do not need their permission in the State of Texas. These people do not have a heart nor a soul but you can make it work for you by knowing that they do not really give a rip about you & are just trying to fulfill their contract needs to make money. I also had to wait about 2 months before they gave me an assignment so they are slow. You also need a doctor's letter to show that you have a medical problem- be careful what you give them in case they may use it against you someday. These people are ruthless and the most unprofessional staffing service I have ever worked for. When I look back at all the paperwork about proper workplace treatment they provided, I believe it is a front so that they can make themselves appear good when they are not. If they wish to get you, they will. Also they will never email you or respond to your emails when things are bad on their end. I asked other employees, who were Hispanic, if they ever had any problems getting paid & they said they did not. Be careful & tread careful if you are not of the same culture as these people. Also Texans overall are in denial about poor treatment because it is a post-slave society & has some of the worse human rights laws in the Nation. In Texas, there is very little you can do to stress your rights- an EEOC filed against the company/organization or a Wage Claim Form via Texas Workforce Commission, but both of these can take weeks to process. Rick Perry is hopeless & allows this corruption to take place. Once a Democratic State... I'm from a Democratic State & several years ago I quit a job & the employer did not pay me. I filed with the State & got my pay w/in 2 weeks only by the State enforcing the employer to pay me immediately. However there is little enforcement or shall I say care in the State of Texas & good luck finding a lawyer- none will take contingency cases. The grass is greener regarding employee rights in most democratic state in comparison to Texas & New York (a democratic state but run by a culture that has very little ethics/morals). The former is high in drug trafficking & the latter high in child sex trafficking. As the Texas logo goes, ""Don't Mess w/Texas,"" meaning nothing will change here so don't try to change it. more
