I used my iphone App to locate a shoe repair in my neighborhood. Who knew he was right across the street? I called, he asked if I needed directions and told me he would be closing at 6pm. All good information! He fixed my boots beautifully and quickly! What else do you need from a shoe repair. I laughed and asked about the bad reviews....and, you are correct, he doesn't care about the reviews. He cares about fixing shoes, and that, he does VERY VERY WELL! THANK YOU DAVID. more

This guy has no idea how to treat his customers. He seemed to be bothered by me even entering his store. I was going to get my shoes fixed there, but after his attitude I decided to go somewhere else. We're in a recession people, not sure how a place and a man like this are still in business. more

I dropped off a pair of shoes that needed to be fixed on a Wednesday making it very clear that I needed them for the upcoming weekend. He said, ""No problem. They will be ready on Friday at 1:00. On Friday at 1:00 I went to pick up my shoes and his door was closed. The guy at the newsstand said he probably went for lunch and to try later. I called for the next 2 hours and there was no response. I left for my weekend away without the shoes I was planning on wearing. I was beyond angry! Then, I called on Monday (nothing) ....Tuesday (nothing) ...dropped by on Wednesday and the newsstand guy next door said he was sick and would be in on Thursday. I finally went on Thursday and he was open. I told him I was upset that he was closed and my shoes were locked in his store, but he could care less. I told him I wouldn't be coming back and this would probably hurt his business and he said ""I've been here for 40 years. I'm not worried. Don't come back."" Who treats their customers like this? It was disgusting and rude and he went back on his word. Don't go here unless you can be without your shoes for a week, unsure of when you'll get them back. more

I called to get information on a shoe repair that I needed and th guy that answered the phone was very abrassive and rude. Before I could ask him what avenue he was on so that I could bring my boots in for an estimate he hung up on me. (in the middle of my sentence) there are tons of great shoe repair places in NYC, his rudeness does NOT deserve clients. Despite what the other writer wrote you can easily go to the Leather Spa and get exceptional service, without the attitude on the phone or in person. I will NEVER patronize this business! I will make the troop to Leather Spa, that way I know what I'm getting. There are so many options to chose from and rude is NOT an option! Cons: rude more

I had a great experience at this cobbler. The man who helped me was incredibly friendly and helpful. He repaired my heels (which had become actual metal spikes) in a few hours and did a FABULOUS job. They really look brand new and it only cost $15. When I picked them up, he told me he loved his job and felt so proud when he did good work.
