Golden China Restaurant

I've eaten here for years. There are certainly more bad Chinese restaurants than good, but this place is consistently GOOD. I'm wondering if the bad reviews are from people who ate somewhere else and then posted erroneously. I've never gotten a dish that was not fresh. I've never eaten something fried that tasted of old grease. The eggrolls are very tasty and one reason I come here. The wonton soup is very good. I've brought friends here and they've all liked Golden China in Graham. My wife and I drive 25 miles to eat here because we have found no place in Greensboro as good.\r \r The décor is nice and American/Chinese normal. The restaurant is always clean. The sweet tea is Southern Comfort good. Most people will enjoy Golden China. It is one block from Courthouse Square. I HAVE had Chinese that is nominally better. But certainly not at these prices! more

Hands down the only place to get good Chinese food in the entire area. Nothing else compares around here. My family gets food here two or three times a month and it's always really good. Sure, the lady at the front doesn't smile or have a conversation with you but most of the servers are pretty friendly. We go here because the food is always awesome. Only place that remotely compares is the place next to Harris Teeter in Burlington. Whoever these other people giving bad reviews are, they are crazy. Every other review online will speak the same way I do. more

We're new to the area and unfortunately, we tried this place for Valentine's Day as we have a tradition of having Chinese food. If this had been the first time I ever ate Chinese food, I would HATE it. The egg rolls? Limp and greasy, greasy, greasy. Lo Mein? Noodles were waaaaaaaaay overcooked and mushy and it had some weird taste to it--like it tasted like really old grease. Orange Chicken? The chicken was so dried out and tough it wasn't even chewable. Egg Foo Young--how do you mess this up? It was sooooooo mushy and it tasted horrible. We spent just shy of $30 and it had to go all in the trash. I agree--if we could have gotten our money back, we so would have. Run, do not walk, in the other direction. And the lady at the front? No smile. No ""how can I help you"". She just stood there for the longest time not even helping us. I chalked it up to maybe her missing someone dear on a day like today. But once we got home and had the food, we know that it was surely because she's embarrassed to serve up such horrible food (and I use that term loosely). My boyfriend's sister and I, went and got take out one night. The meat tastes like processed beef, the rice is rubbery, the chicken is horrible...there spring roles are also greasy and ( they has meat in it)...If i could get our $24.00 back i would! So in short we ended up eating leftover pizza...So if you have another choice i would go there instead..If you have to drive to Durham or Greensboro I would! Golden China is our Family's favorite Chinese Restaurant. We love the Spicy Honey Chicken and Chicken and Broccoli. Their Egg and Spring Rolls are also wonderful. We love the staff who work there they have always been so friendly when we dine there. more
