busy but worth it 6/26/2008

My family are picky eaters. When it comes to eating out, we have a difficult time trying to agree on a place. We decided to eat at Guisepe's surprisingly everyone found something to meet thier palate. \r Our visit was on 6/26/08 around 12:30 or so during lunch time. The salad bar was teriffic, slightly pricey, but contained many items which were meals in themselves.\r My daughter ate a calzone and loved it.\r I had the lunch special of the day and it was delicious.\r My wife ate all of her philly cheese steak and loved it.\r We did wait over 10 minutes for a table but the food made it worth it.\r We were happy for once in a great while.\r We will be back Pros: good food, large menu Cons: waiting for a table more

Hello, my name is Michael, and I have eaten here for about 4years now. I have seen a lot of changes here, and my last dining experience proved itself to be the best. I had the best lunch which was a baked chicken penne with pepperoni and melted cheese in a tomatoey creamy sauce, Mmmmm.\r I only hopeyou will put this item on your menu, please!\r Also, the Rueben is always good! Pros: Delicious salad bar! Cons: overpriced a tad more

second chance glad I did 3/3/2008

Well it must of been at least a year since my last visit to the old train depot. My husband and I decided to give it a second try. I can remember the bad service and a long wait as well as waiting about 30 minutes for our food on our last visit almost a year ago. \r We went in to dine again sometime during the last week of February. Our waitress loitered around the salad bar with a couple other waitresses and chatted, which made me feel a little uncomfortable. However, we were seated right away and food was brought out to us quickly, and it was delicious! My husband wanted to order another to bring home for lunch the next day.\r My husband ordered a dinner special, which was chicken saltimbocca. My husband wanted to order another to bring home for lunch the next day. Also, \r He enjoyed that it was the most affordable item there. I had the chicken parmigan and it was pretty good as well. I have decided to give this place a second chance, and am glad. thumbs up! Pros: great views and large salad bar Cons: sloppy service and distracted waitresses more

Best pizza you'll ever eat. Historic atmosphere that you can't find any more! 2/29/2008

This place is a mainstay in Colorado Springs and truly one of the great restaurants that's differentiated from all of the chains. If you come to Colorado Springs, this is simply one of the places you HAVE to visit. \r \r The menu is diverse, but the one thing you can't miss is the pizza. It's truly an experience, with a medium-thick crust, a homemade sauce, and generous (and I mean really generous!) toppings. The owner of the restaurant, Ed Colt, still works in the kitchen everyday after some 30+ years and is back there cooking pizzas, so you owe it to yourself to try his amazing recipe. \r \r This place is HUGE- it seats about 600 people with 9 or 10 different rooms with totally different atmospheres. Try to get a trackside seat so you've got a direct view of the trains- they still roll by every hours and it's a lot of fun when the whole place rumbles with a big freight train!\r \r All in all, just a great, fun place with the kind of character you can't find easily. The building is some 120+ years old and is really amazing. Pros: Great pizza, atmosphere. Cons: Menu is a little overwhelming. Can get very crowded. more

Avoid at all cost 12/6/2007

I have tried Giuseppe's twice in the past six months. Both times I was not pleased with the food. Yes, the feel of the place makes you think that ,""this is the place to be"".\r I revieved luke warm food that made me sick later. I wrote the resturant and requested some kind explaination. I was told that the food should have been great by thier standards. I hope their standards improve. As far as recomending this place to anyone else. I must say you might be getting food of the train and that train has been sitting there for a while. Pros: looks like a great place to have a good time Cons: cold resturant and cold food more

Fun location, great food, biggest salad bar in town 1/13/2007

This place has been a favorite of mine since moving to the springs. It has great portions, reasonable prices, great lunch options and a huge salad bar. The trains going by make it fun for kids and adults, and the kitchen is always willing to make changes if you want something added or taken off your meal. Parking is a little tricky when it's packed on a Sunday afternoon, and soon the city is messing with that even more. Call ahead and get your name on the list or make reservations if you have more than 4-5 people it will make it a lot easier. Pros: Good food at reasonable prices Cons: Parking more

interesting building 6/28/2006

I liked the building on the inside, but they could use a new decorator! The decorations distracted from the architecture. The food tasted alright, but I have to admit I was sick later. I got the ravioli and I think it was all pre-made, just heat and serve. more

Very cool depot 5/9/2006

The depot is very cool, right behind the antler' sit is an excellent spot, however the food is awful. They just don't seemto put any effort. macaroni's and carrabbas are both better. more

Cool place 1/7/2003

Had my wedding reception here last spring. Great food, and lots of it. Really cool atmosphere, located right on the tracks so you can watch the trains go by. Lots of old train depot memorabilia and old Colorado Springs photos on the walls. Extremely nice staff. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. more
