Gino Salon

Absolutely the worse cut of my life. I have long, thick, coarse, wavy hair and Paris completely bombed. She totally screwed up the layers, overthinned and now I have scraggly coarse hair that looks like I have a chin bob sitting on top of of shoulder length hair. The only comments I get about this hair cut is, "What the h___ happened to your hair?" I will be growing out this disaster for a LONG time. AVOID this salon if you value your hair. As for positive reviews - they must have easy, straight hair - the kind that supercuts can handle. Otherwise, avoid this place like the plague. more

***A note to previous posters: a trendy atmosphere and busy salon does not make your hair look good. At my first appointment, Gino sat down with me and listened to me explain exactly what I wanted. He showed me how short it would be, and I okay'ed it. He gave me great highlights, it was exactly what I wanted! I started going to Gino because my salon of 7 years started getting more popular, and instead of the service getting better it got worse. My stylist looked at pictures I showed her (of the cut I wanted) for about a split second before hacking away at my hair. Other people were doing the color. I was tired of paying a high price for a cut I didn't want and color by someone else! Gino is everything I wasn't getting! He listens! He is thorough! The end result is fabulous! I get compliments all the time! ***Be smart. Don't take advice from posters who can't spell or form sentences... or from posters who went back the next day asking for their money back... if you aren't happy with the end result, speak up! If it takes an entire day for you to look in a mirror and decide you aren't happy, call him up and ask for a redo! Stop tarnishing Gino's rep on this site! He is the king of cut & color. more

These people who posted negative critics of this salon must be on something. Gino and his staff are the nicest people and he is the most awesome hair stylist in this city. Read Allure magazine people. He has been styling my hair for years now, and i couldn't be happier with his abilities. His color is magnificent and his cuts are great. someone must have had their cheerios pee'd on the day that they went in. more

When I decided to try this salon, Gino was booked up and went to another sylist there, who left shortly. My next appointment was with Gino, who did alot of complaining about not being able to find people to work as they wanted to get commission, etc. I don't want to hear about your financial issues while I'm trying to get a haircut. I now have a bald spot and new growth sticking straight up in the front as he placed those thinning shears he loves so much right against my scalp. Never again!! more

I have been going to Gino for quite some time now. One time I went and was not pleased with the cut I got. Instead of bad-mouthing him on the internet, I simply called him back and told him I was not satisfied. He was very apologetic, made an appt for the next day and corrected the problem at no additinal charge. Gino is a man, not a mind-reader. If you have a problem with him, take your bad hair-cut (and poor grammer) back to the salon and simply ask him to fix it. I am not a personal friend of Gino who is putting something on the internet to make him look good. Most women want people to try to figure out what they want when they don't even know themselves. Show some maturity. Communicate! And shame on you for bashing him and his business. more

THEY ARE FRIENDS OF GINO'S WHO ARE WRITING THEM TO BRING CLIENTS SINCE HE NOR THE OTHER SYLIST IN HIS SALON HAS ANY FAITHFUL ONES. EVERYONE WHO TRIES THIS PLACE DO NOT COME BACK!!!!! I went to Gino based on reviews - and boy was I disappointed. The first warning sign was that in spite of normal hours and advertised promotion, the salon was completely deserted, with just one bored stylist instead. Cut and color where average, barely worth the promotional, deeply discounted price. And the surroundings where definitely unpleasant - despite no customers the stylist would not swipe my hair from the floor - now I know what was called "artistic atmosphere" in the editorial review. I am deeply disappointed and afraid to go to the recommended place for facials - do salons hire people to write these misleading reviews on city search? more

I have no idea what was the problem the last girl had at Gino's, but I can assure you it wasn't the haircut. I have been going to get my hair done by Gino for the last 3 yars and I have never been happier. The last time I was there right before the New Years. One lady has mistaken me for her daughter, who was suppose to come to get her hair done. I was sitting and waiting for Gino while he was getting my color mixed (before my haircut), she come to me from behind and called me by her daughter's name. When I turned around she realized that she made a mistake, but she has complemented me on my hair (that had not been trimmed since early October!) and said that she wishes her daughter would get same style: "I love your hair!" - she said. Gino does magic, not the haircut, highlights or style. He makes you feel like a star. He gives a first class service for an acceptable price. If you can't get your hairdresser to make you feel special with the haircut, I recommend you to check out Gino - he is the best! P.S.: when I first had my highlights done, they were cherry on my black hair. I got many-many complements and did not change my hairdresser ever since. more

Ladies, I went to Gino's salon to get a highlight and haircut. My hair is black and I wanted deep cherry highlights and on the website it claims he is a color guru, boy is that wrong. He (mostly his staff) spent over an hour highlighting and dying my hair and then didn't even cut it correctly, although I had shown him a pic of the haircut I wanted. I left Gino's with my original black hair with no highlights to be shown (except my scalp which was orange) and a bad haircut. I feel so used, I paid $125 and for what he did, it was worth about $25. I felt like I had gone to supercuts instead of what was supposed to be a posh salon. more
