I have so much to say, 2030 character limit. Trans = transmission. Test drive to obtain a quote: $900-1,300. My trans acted worst after the test drive. The $900 quote got my attention, and I knew if the cost reached to $1,300, I would be paying $100 more than the quote I got from another shop which is guaranteed no more than $1,200 which includes everything but taxes and mounts. Called Gillece, Bob answered; made claims to make his shop is the best. He quoted $900-1,500 depending on the parts it needs. Test driver thinks Bob's quote is what he quoted me. Bob says he will try to keep the cost as close to $1,300 as possible. I allowed him to proceed to take apart the trans. His new quote, $1,657 before taxes, excluding mounts and flywheel. I owe him $85/hr of 7.2 hours at this point. I am stuck. I can not transfer my items because it will cost Quote from other shop + towing + Gillece Labor = more than Gillece new quote. He showed me what needs repaired. I asked him, why doesn't he charge for the cost to place the trans back on. He asked me if I wanted him to charge me to do it and says he could. Then he told the labor is split 3.5 off, 3.5 on. He kept trying to manipulate statements, costs, and claims. Ex, he showed me a refurbished trans for $903 that includes 1 year warranty. He says it would cost about the same for its parts (not including the labor). He said mine cost $855 for parts, saving me money. I was trapped. I asked for extended warranty to test if my trans will be built good, granted. He said it will be done in 3 days. I requested to keep the parts replaced. I allowed him to proceed.6 days later, the trans was complete (before adding the flywheel).When car received, my steering wheel was up high, glove department & digital settings distorted, & stuff on the floor. Checked for my parts requested, half was there. The most expensive parts where missing. They gave me some of the missing parts a few days later that where different than mine that I saw and touched. I caught him pricing hidden labor cost under the product category as a product and not labor category costing me about $200 when I should have been given the old parts instead. I reported this to BBB but Bob replied with his professional manipulation and lies that tricked BBB to drop the case.
