For Valentine's Day my ex (you'll see why)-boyfriend ordered me some last-minute, 1-800-flowers bouquet which arrived the day AFTER Valentine's Day at 6pm, stapled into some kind of industrial cardboard box. Thoughtless gift (a nice note would have been far better) and horrible flowers--sent from Minnesota, though they were ordered in Portland. Sigh. Out with the old! Last week I received an amazing, breathtaking bouquet sent by a new beau who lives in Seattle. Amazingly multi-colored tulips of varying sizes--some HUGE--and one single, perfectly exquisite red rose, in a very thick, squared off and utterly tasteful vase. All were beautiful then, and still amazing a week later. Coworkers seemed driven into my office to admire them and smell them. I have never really been a "buy me flowers" type of woman, but I guess I just never had flowers like these sent to me. They made my week, day after day...I guess that's the point! Bringing them home, people could not stop commenting on the tastefulness and beauty of the bouquet. Sounds like some people have had some bad experiences with Gifford's; certainly indifferent or rude service shouldn't be tolerated; I'd be really put off if I had nic's experience. All I know is when those flowers came in, I fell in love a little.
