I really appreciate the amount of thought and effort that went into creating my custom home plans. The speed of approval is a testament to how careful and detailed the folks are ...

Best Steak in Town 6/14/2004

Great service! Great food! I was even giving a tour of the building and then taken in to a soundproof dining room with big windows so you can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you love steak! more

The Best 3/11/2004

How Smith & Wollensky stays off the top ten is a mystery to me. The service is impeccable, and the steaks are the best I have ever enjoyed. Save your $$ and take the plunge! I can't wait for my next trip to Vegas. more

One of the Best Steaks I've had! 5/21/2003

Stopped at S&W in Vegas on our way from SC to Seattle. The food (we both had steaks) was spectacular! One of the best steaks I've had (second only to the Met). The sides were pricey, but definitely worth it - get the sautee mushrooms, you won't regret it! more

Worst Meal! 5/8/2003

My wife and I were dissapointed by the meal and service at this location. Our $35.00 Prime Rib was slightly warm and full of fat - the cold baked potatoes were returned and later substituted with smashed potatoes with the insistence of the manager. The waitress seemed annoyed that we did not order any liquor just soda. as if it was going to ruin her tip percentage. The best part of this $120.00 ordeal was the creme brulee was excellent.... Also most alacarte items are plenty for two. Pros: Fast seating, Dessert, location Cons: Very expensive, Snooty Mgt and staff, Quality more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! 3/10/2003

We were in a group of 10 with a reservation at 7:30. We specified that we had a 10pm show to make at luxor. They seated us around 7:50 and didn't care that we were now running late. The server then said 'don't worry, you'll make your show'. We asked a second time and he said he would make sure the food came out in time. The food arrived at 9:25pm after we asked to see the manager. The manager finally came out and blamed it on the table ahead of us. We said that's fine, but don't tell us that we'll have enough time if that is not true. He didn't appologize and didn't offer any compensation. We ate fast, didn't enjoy our steaks due to the rush, didn't have any time for desert and was 5minutes late to our show. WILL NEVER EAT AT SMITH AND WOLLENNSKY AGAIN!!!! Pros: ATMOSPHERE Cons: SERVICE, COST more

Expence Accounts only 3/9/2003

The food is spectacular. The service feels a little pushy at times. The pricing of the restaurant is geared towards those visiting town on an expence account. The Cajun Ribeye is without a doubt the BEST steak I have ever had. Pros: Top quality food Cons: Expensive more

I have had no better 2/10/2003

the only way to go is the filet this has to be at least a 12oz slap of perfectly prepared 100% pure dry aged beef.. I have had no better. well worth the price. we made a reservation for 9, when we arrived everything was awaiting us. Al our server was an expert with the menu, he happly answered any question we had. be careful on drinking too much at this place, it can get spendy at $10 a drink! Pros: service, food, selection Cons: drink prices more

Prime quality steak is here! 1/13/2003

A very fine restaurant. They serve one of the best steaks around. The preparation and presentation of the food was excellent. Service was exceptional. Pros: good parking Cons: a little crowded, expensive more

disappointed 1/4/2003

The hotel recommended this restaurant. The waiter really wanted us to order wine, be we did not want any. I felt pressured and slightly unwelcome. Delmonicos in the Venetian had nice chairs and big tables but Smith and Wollensky had our party of ten crammed into a corner with no elbow room. The steak tasted good but the presentation was less than you would expect for a $60 steak. despite the fact that we made a reservation, we still waited for nearly an hour at the bar. Pros: soup, large drinks, 40 oz. steaks Cons: over priced, car salesman waiter, drunk management more

Disappointing 9/9/2002

We did not have a pleasant dining experience at Smith & Wollensky. We found the service to be terrible , the prices too high and the food was mediocre , at best . One member of our group was sick for the rest of evening. Having eaten at many top rated steak houses , we were very disappointed. more

classic american steakhouse 6/26/2002

I ate here while in Vegas. the meal was pretty good. they cooked the steak exactly as ordered. the side dishes are like $10 bucks each but 2 can split. the drinks at the bar are expensive so make sure to bring some cash. If I recall a captian and coke was $7 bucks Pros: good food, steaks, pricey more

"over the top" 6/23/2002

S&W takes V.I.P. to a new level. We have dined at 2 S&W's, Washington DC and Columbus, OH. Both showed us how dining should be. "Above and beyond" service and "over the top" suburb food, from start (salmon lollipops) to finish (scrumpious desserts, try the S&W6). You would never had known it was opening night in Columbus, everything ran as if they had been there for years. S&W staff really know how to treat their guest. For a real treat ask to be seated at the "Chef's Table" ( for party of at least 15) Thanks S& W for two great nights. OUr next trip to S&W is in Miami Pros: excellent wait staff, supurb steaks more

Lose the attitude! 5/29/2002

You can find a great quality cut of beef at many Las Vegas steak houses. What makes the difference is how you are treated while spending all that cash on a steak. In this area, Smith & Wollenski is in need of a wake up call. The servers are extremely pretentious and change the way they treat the customers depending on how much money you spend. Although our group spent a fair amount of money and were treated with respect, I witnessed the couple next to us being treated with a bad attitude and overheard the server complaining to a co-worker about how cheaply they were ordering. This is not O.K. and I will be spending my money at Ruth's Chris from now on. Pros: High Quality Product, Wine List, Variety Cons: Server Attitude, Pricey, Felt Rushed more

  • In Short
Whether you're talking about the steaks, chops, wine list or the building, "big" is the only way to describe Smith and Wollensky. The jumbo, three-story, green and white structure houses 650 seats, private dining rooms, banquet areas, a cigar bar, retail shop, cafe and multi-tier restaurant. The gargantuan roasted pork shank served with jalapeno applesauce and cumin-laced coleslaw will easily feed three. Other stunners include the 24-ounce Cajun ribeye and New York strip.
