We bought a used car for our daughter in college. Jason Nadolski made the experience a good one.....I loathe the hassle of buying cars, new or used.....this was my best experience to date. Jason followed up and answered all of our questions....was very low pressure/laid back and extremely knowledgeable..... First of all, do not believe any of these 4 & 5 star reviews. Gary Lang obviously had these reviews put up to counteract their terrible reputation and after dealing with them I must say the poor reputation fits well. If you do choose to believe these recent great reviews I would tread real lightly and ask yourself....after tons of bad reviews, is it add they have a sudden onslaught of great ones. My fiancee and I had a terrible experience with promises not being kept, poor communication, disrespectful employees which one even raised his voice at me over the phone when I explained we were unhappy with they way they were handling things and the way we were being treated. I even had to threaten to call the Mchenry police after they called numerous times after I had left a message that we no longer would be doing business with them. even calling my fiancee's work!!!!! If I could give this dealer 0 stars, I would have. To start, we called and spoke with the salespeople to tell them our situation. They said it would be workable. Upon arrival, it took them a good 20 minutes to find the car, they were unfriendly, and they had a group of salesmen standing around talking inappropriately & cussing. Pros: null Cons: null more

Cheyne Hanoski was a great salesmen, very genuine and extremely easy to work with. He was very accommodating and definitely eased the nerves of buying a new 2012 Equinox. After I asked about the Costco Auto price, I was told by the salesman he would take care of all the paperwork. After I purchased the car, I contacted Costco and was basically told in a nutshell that the salesman was not allowed to do the paperwork for me and he was not one of the authorized salesman for the Costco deal. All the Costco paperwork was supposed to be done prior to me going to the dealer. I was also supposed to get another $200+ off the vehicle when the Costco price was compared to my negotiated price. (I was initially told I was getting a better deal). After about 2 weeks of going back and forth between Costco and Gary Lang, I finally got my gift card to Costco. gary lang is in it for the money they sold me a jeep that had sevier problems and then they told me that they would not fix it and the jeep had there 3 mounth 3000 warenty on it this came from the service manager and sales manager they may seen like they are on your side but they are taking you for a ride please dont trust any thing they say about a used car it is all a lie . they also told me they just got the car and the car fax shows that they have had it for 3 mounths and in that time there was 500 miles put on it PLEASE DONT TRUST ANY THING THEY TELL YOU !!!! I would rate this dealer with 0 stars if the site allowed. I went there today, searching for a replacement part (door jamb switch) for a 2006 Subaru Legacy Outback. I also had the old part in hand (with a part# on it) so I could show the parts folks what I needed. The parts guy refused to help me without a VIN#. Unfortunately, it's my son's car currently in Champaign, IL, so I did not have the VIN. The parts guy wouldn't even look it up. He was very condescending and behaved as if I was wasting his time. After I left, I contacted the parts dept at Libertyville Subaru. What a difference in attitude! Very polite and helpful, and guess what---no VIN required! It's a very common part used in most models of Subaru, and they had one in stock, which they set aside until I could drive there and pick it up. Pros: null Cons: null more

The Service and Sales team at Gary Lang is the "Best of the Best". JR, Chris, Adam, Mike, Jeff, Nancy, Joe, Tony, Dixie and the girls in casher area that I deal with. Always friendly and respectful of all. I consider them my extended family. I spend more time at Gary Lang then most, reason? because of the treatment I receive while I am there. No pressure, no stress, no attitudes, just people who are professionals at what they do and are the best at what they do. Gary has the easiest ownership job in the world with this staff, honestly. Gary--please do not change a thing. Sign them all to long term contracts. I have been to many dealers in the past to purchase vehicles, but I think I have met the foundation of where auto sales got its bad reputation. Nobody knows whats going on, nobody cares, and everybody doesn't seem to have any sort of good mood left in them. While dealing with a sales consultant I had over heard other sales people talking about what a terrible place it was to work and how they kept changing all the rules and pay scale there. Between all the negativity, vulgar language and overall dissatisfation with their work enviornment I decided my family needed to purchase somewhere else. The only positive thing we got from this experience is that my 5 year old learned some new vocabulary. Maybe the sales people used to be truck drivers especially the tall younger woman that is in sales there..... more

After stopping in at Gary Lang the sales Associate seemd likeable. But after we saw a couple of vehicles and the manager came involved we knew right away they weren't looking out for our best interest. We have purchased many vehicles over the years and usually don't mind the whole car buying experience. These people were the shadiest we have evere dealt with.
